Allardyce: Tomkins for England

TomksSam Allardyce has called on Roy Hodgson needs to take a look at James Tomkins.

He reckons his centre-back, 25, looks every inch an England international saying: “Why shouldn’t Roy Hodgson look at James Tomkins?

“He is playing very well, very consistent and he’s at a very good age so if they ever need a centre-half, if he continues to grow like he is doing on a regular basis and takes West Ham to the next level, then he might get recognised internationally.

And he concluded:  “They can scoff all they want. But if he plays consistently well for us and at a level where he has played against his opponents like Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill, I don’t see a huge amount of difference when I watch them playing against each other.”

  1. BFS is sure is good enough one of our players is good enough for England, yet he can’t pick who is good enough for us ?
I am sure Roy has got people watching Tommo and Cresswell,Jenkinson and Noble, without BFS recommending them,he wants to sort out his own problems first like recommending Nolan to a championship team,

  2. I am afraid Sam is delusional Tomkins is not going to be playing for England nice pump up for the guy but he is serviceable at club level borderline regular at this point cannot see a player close to national squad.
