Social media  ‘news stories’  and pictures should be marked with a silly season warning and here’s an example of why with no disrespect intended to anybody!

As we all know at this time of the year images regularly appear of player in or around London.

And that is a big signal apparently to ensure that speculation starts he is on his way to sign for a club with which they are currently being linked in the media.

That there may be a big flaw involved and that words and pictures can usually be quickly checked doesn’t matter.

The latest involves Lazio’s Felipe Anderson who has been reported for 24 hours as interesting the Hammers so it wasn’t long before a picture of him would appear somewhere in the capital.

However, as we show here,  things are not always as they seem because Mr Anderson is pictured with his girlfriend with Big Ben in the background.

Just one problem here. The picture must be at least two months ago for as our picture below shows the famous old boy has been surrounded for scaffold for at least that length of time.

We are told to stay calm – no problem – we’re calm!
