Antonio tops Premier League table

antonioMichail Antonio is statistically the best goal scorer from headers in  Premier League after stats show that the winger dominates in the air.

Antonio has scored three headers so far this season and scored a further seven headed goals last season, taking his total to ten since the start of the 2015/16 season.

Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud has headed seven in the same period while Man City’s Sergio Aguero has got six headed goals to his name followed by Hammers team mate Andy Carroll who has five headed goals.

Antonio also shares the most Premier League goals this season on four with Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic while Sergio Aguero,  Etienne Capoue  and Leroy Fer  are in joint second place with three each.

Antonio has been named West Ham’s player of the month for August  this morning after an impressive start to the new Premier League campaign.

  1. It would be good if we could also create some chances for players to score with their feet. With our tactic of getting the ball out wide and getting crosses in which we are excellent at, it means that teams are sitting deep on us and we are very predictable but as mentioned numerous times we are not creating anything through the centre with balls to feet, even Antonio recognised that he would now like to also score some with his feet, we will likely end up paying 24 mill for Zaza but we are wasting him if we are only going to use him as a target man. I would like to see Fernandes get a chance in place of Lanzini and Nordveidt in place of Noble although I really doubt that will happen.
