Bilic becomes overnight favourite for the sack

TaxiWest Ham manager Slaven Bilic has been made the over night bookies favourite for the first Premier League manager to be sacked. Yesterday Bilic was the fourth favourite at 4/1 behind Frank De Boer, Rafa Benitez and Antonio Conte but he has been made the odds on favourite overnight after the crushing 3-0 defeat at Newcastle.  Sky Bet have him at 8/15  Bet Victor 4/6 and Paddy Power 10/11.

Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez slipped from the second favourite at 7/2 to the third favourite at 12/1 for the boot. Frank De Boer is now the second favourite for first Premier League manager to be sacked at 5/2.

In April this year, West Ham were forced to release an official press statement on WHUFC.com after similar press speculation.

At the time the statement read “To end speculation once and for all, the West Ham United Board feel it necessary to announce that we have 100 per cent faith in Slaven Bilic’s ability to lead West Ham United.

Despite press speculation to the contrary, the manager’s position is not under threat. The Board know that Slaven and his coaching staff have the full backing of the playing squad and the overwhelming majority of supporters to lead West Ham United out of this difficult spell.

The Board now urge all supporters to unite behind the manager, his staff and the squad as we go into some important games. We all have complete confidence in their ability to end a testing run of results and finish the season on a high.”

  1. You and your Sun reading mates much be chuffed

    • Crewe got done for it numnuts , crawl back in you’re suitcase you dummy ,
      Mange tu mange tu !!!
He’s a troll , bit like you , getting to him like he gets to others.
Who the xxxx are you anyway , mugs like you will never tell me what to do so go do one 👋

    • You may not like him but laz is on here most days so I think he has more of a say than some people who are not west ham fans who come on out of the blue just to cause trouble …as for bilic there is nothing to discuss if they keep him he !might win the next game or 2 but it will only be papering over the cracks and would go to rat sh!! Again after another few games..he is not up to the job simple .. Players out of position terrible back.room Staff no plan b or plan a four that matter …benitez or howe for me

  2. Nobody should be surprised at the odds .

  3. Odds on to leave this morning – at 10/11.

I’ve been trying to finds the odds on the Next West Ham Manager – Rafa is favourite at 5/2, Mancini at 11/2 with ‘dark horse’ Steve McLaren at 50/1.

  4. The tea lady would do a better job !

  5. Rafa and Mancini? Sounds like sideways to me, Eddie Howe would be a better bet

  6. Give Dicks the role as a very brief caretaker of training while the board find an available replacement. If they want British go for Pearson if they want foreign Tuchel, Mancini and Rafa aren’t likely to be any more than a stop gap.

  7. I would put money on it NOT being Rafa or Mancini. Sadly, McClaren or Pards are much more likely. We don’t know enough of the back story to divide the blame between the owners & Bilic for getting the club into this sorry mess.I have generally been a supporter of the owners- but not the manager who I always felt was a sham. Now for the first time I am not so sure about the owners. Not that that they give a toss what I think, but the next few days of the window & the choice of new manager will be crucial imo. If they decide to give him yet another chance then they lose all credibility.

  8. Think I would back your take on it 32. But Tuchel won’t take the job. That is why I am so fed up. We probably could have got a good manager last November or endof last season. Oh wel, water under the bridge.

  9. You have probably seen reports linking Tuchel to Chelsea! I doubt that but that is his level, not basket cases.

    • you might be right h64 but i think he would look at our squad see a lot of very good players and easy ways to improve our performances to make us competitive, plus his mates Klopp and Wagner are here so why not manage in the PL ?

  10. Five wins from twenty four games, why would you let him carry on ?.
If the board are serious about taking the club to a higher level they need to be prepared to make the tough decisions.

  11. Dosh Alan ? New bloke more dosh ?
Bilic to get the vote of confidence to avoid that scenario IMO 😉
Tuchel is like guardiola or any other top manager , zabba , ginge , ogbonna , cresswell , noble
Ayew, fonte, massuaku, byrum, would all be replaced to move forward with purpose ! Compete with the best ! That’s what they do !
    Not going to happen 😉

  12. As shown last year and the second half against Cheltenham last week. As soon as the opposition ‘press’ us by pushing their forwards high up against our back line and move their midfield into our half, we fall to pieces. Cheltenham could easily have scored three goals from mid way through the second half.

I said before the season started, that with the games we had, if Bilic couldn’t get us 8 points from the first 6 games, he should go. He can’t now get us 8 points – so its now 9 points from three games.

He keeps going on about the team need confidence, and to be honest I think his strange ways of setting up the team are losing the team their confidence.

  13. Seems like billic is becoming another hippo ?? Obstinate and dull !!!

  14. I can cope with not winning, I really can, but not competing is beyond me.

The squad we have is a pretty decent one for the most part, why can’t Bilic motivate them?

The players were not up for it at all yesterday with the exception of glimmers from Antonio and Hernandez.

I watched live when Huddersfield went to Newcastle – they chased, hassled and pressed hard. Rafa watched the video and did exactly the same to us.

We were so bad, we were third to the ball.

  15. It seems his main problem is he does not learn from his mistakes i.e. Playing people out of position this cost us at least 6 points last sason when he kept playing Antonio at right back,
And after reading comments made by Snodgrass it seems he kept playing him out of position despite him telling the manager he could not do it he had tco play in his natural position to be able to perform. He has done the same with Rice he is a CB not a holding midfielder why does he keep doing it surely it is not rocket science you pick the players in their correct positions unless they are all injured & you have to utilise other players but only in a emergency not every week, the other point is he seems unable to change his formation when plan A does not work

  16. Hate to admit it cos I admire him as a nice guy but the one constant in all our recent troubles is him. Perhaps it’s time for change. My main gripe is we seem to concentrate on not losing ( big fail) rather than taking the game by the scruff and going for the win. The players don’t seem confident in the system or themselves so something or someone has to re-invigorate them. The only way to make an overall sweeping change throughout the club is to change manager and back room staff. Although I think we should keep Gary Lewin as he does seem to be getting our long term injured back into the squad. Perhaps Sakho might find his smile again as he clearly has a problem with Bilic ( in my opinion) and want to stay. We need 2 up front. Pea is not a target man . COYI X
