Bilic claims summer signing plan underway

|

bilic2Slaven Bilic insists the Hammers have their summer targets sorted and are working on them.

Speaking about his plans to improve the squad he claimed more quality was needed in certain position but that further squad players weren’t a priority.

He said: ““We don’t need squad players because we have been without up to eight players in recent weeks and we’ve still fielded a decent team,.

“That shows we have a squad which is good, but we want to improve the quality in some of the positions.

“I am not going to talk about names now, but we are working on them and hopefully we’re going to be successful in finishing those transfers for the targets  we want.

“Most of the players are linked in the papers with West Ham and, to be fair, the big majority of those rumours, there is no truth in them. We have our targets and we’re going to try to get them.”

“..we have a squad which is good…” Not from where I sit Slav. What is the point of numbers in a squad that is barely competitive? Klopp and other managers would have given our youngsters a go at PL level with the future in mind.So what do we see week in and week out? Under performing players and we all know who they are.Sorry but there needs to be a major clean out with no room for sentimentality.Even out stopper Adrian says he wants more than”fighting for survival” each year.IMHO

Very few Premier managers have given youth a go this season.Klopp when necessity has dictated and Koeman who yes fair play to the man is willing to give them a shot.
If Bilic stood alone as a manager who didn’t play youth i could get the frustration but he isnt.Im not saying it is right or wrong young Roman but the lambasting that he gets for it is bordering on senseless.
Lets not forget that before the Pool game we had not conceded and played well against Everton, got a good point at Stoke and beat Spurs with these squad players.Praise was being heaped on them after the Spurs game and then they were back to being the pits after the Pool game. But we football fans are not fickle are we lol

The more comments I hear from Slav like ‘we done good recently ‘ the more I believe we have a fundamental expectations issue. So getting stuffed by all the top teams equals ‘we done good’s does it?
