Bilic delivers his verdict

bilic_main_3437996b-large_transpjliwavx4cowfcaekesb3kvxit-lggwcwqwla_rxju8Slaven Bilic refused to be bowed by defeat against Spurs after a highly spirited comeback by the Hammers against Spurs.
He said: “Before the first goal we had lots of attacking opportunities but we didn’t use it. Then we make a mistake and their finish was clinical. The first half was nowhere near 2-0.

“We came back and after the red card we pressed them. In the end we came to 3-2 but there wasn’t enough. The game was very hectic with fouls and time-wasting. We showed good pride to come back.

“When you play against the top teams, you give a little and from that little they create a chance and score.”

The result leaves the Hammers 19th with just four points from their opening six fixtures.

  1. 4 points from these 6 games….. how many did one expect?

  2. We didn’t give up and Chic was well energised all over and for a lil guy has a powerful header. Losing Antonio hurt a pace and presence up front.
Could be well argued 1st goal was offside and AC push should have been PEN in 2nd half.
It was good to see us stay in it even tho Aurier who rightfully went off gave us advantage but they have player to defended the a lead. So wasn’t the best first half after Antonio but 2nd half I will say was entertaining why ppl leave in 60th dk. But players also know to pick out Harts left side.
Chicharito for me showed we could do a front 2 Fonte good Flick on and move fwd OG played well Reid did as well even Noble and Zab of course. Masuaku good take ons going down wing to Kouyates header.
Just wish we would press more we look so much better when we do and we had 49% possession 10 fouls vs their 20 fouls and 10 shots vs 15. Chic had 3 on tgt. For me Chic has to start 3 goals from him and shows he will play across front 3. Just glad to see the boys give it a go

  3. Very poor first substitution, should not have brought on AC and switched Hernandez to right wing. Should have brought on Sakho and left Hernandez where he was

    • Spot on sweet fa, that game was crying out for Sakho. Carrol has had no pre season and minimal game time. But even if he was 100% fit, he would have been the wrong choice. To put him on when he is so out of sorts was ridiculous! Bilic and Sullivan need to get over themselves and make amends with Sakho. Unfortunately, Sullivan’s ego will see Sakho leave come end of the season, and no doubt he’ll probably give Carroll another 5 years on double wages. If only Sullivan’s time at the club could expire…

  4. Just back from the game. Fed up with playing rubbish and losing. I’m not sure I care anymore though, just feel flat all the time, nothing to get excited about except the too late fight back. No real leader on the pitch, lost it with Bilic. Where is the Mooro, Bondzo or Alvin Martin something fundamental is missing for me.

  5. Don’t know what Bilic’s talking about to be honest .
