Bilic tells Chicharito to”sacrifice” himself for the team

Hernandez is different level

Slaven Bilic believes Spurs are the most attractive team in the Premier League edgng out Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.

The Hammers boss used his presser ahead of the game to give his verdict on the north Londoners saying:  “They have patterns, good players and, for me, that makes them one of the best teams probably the most attractive one.”

But he believes the Irons will have an edge given the result last season which kick started the team’s dive to Premier League safety.

He said: “The last game should give us a psychological advantage. It gives us good memories, more than anything a good pattern to repeat what you have already done.”

He revealed too that he’s had  with Javier Hernandez and asked him to “sacrifice himself” for the team by playing wide with Andy Carroll up front.

Bilic added: “I spoke with him and also when you watch him play he is still close to goal. He is a great player and I explained it to him that sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself for the team.”

  1. All for the sake of Carroll?…

  2. Strikes me that by persisting in this idea, Bilic is more likely sacrificing the team – rather than Hernandes !

  3. Yet again the whole team are pandering to AC’s direct in the air style and we suffer as a result.
I would rather have Hernadez paired up front with Sakho who will run the channels and seems also to fit in well with Arnautovic.
Carroll should be an impact sub not Plan A.

    • Absolutely spot on. Well said

    • I couldn’t agree more, mate..
I really can’t understand Bilic’s passionate belief in Andy Carroll’s ability to take West Ham on to future glories-almost delusional.

Sakho is a much more versatile striker than Andy, and I supporrt your suggestion of pairing him up as a central striker with Chicharito. Then we’d see some goals from our strikers.

As much as I admire Bilic as a person, if he continues to expect players to occupy incorrect positions, he could be on his way out!

  4. Bilic should sacrifice himself for the sake of the club. Playing Carroll other than off the bench means we have to play the Allerdici way. Bilic isn’t as good as BFS at that game.

  5. You lot EVER stop moaning?

    • Sorry but they are right .u can’t say with have looked good and I agree with carol back its back to the same thing .long ball,, top player out of position the list goesz on …I liks Slav but he isnt good enough and in my opinion it will all go to pot in the end ..sorry but that’s my opinion .but I will support anyway

  6. Perhaps when Lanzini is back and we have someone to feed the killer passes Hernandez will revert to cf.

  7. Honestly, the way he plays players out of position, I’m just grateful Bilic isn’t asking Chicharito to take over for Hart.

  8. Chaps I think the answer is- give it a try. We have a mix of hard & winnable games ahead. I think AC is a good striker who has won us a lot of games, but at the moment I would agree Hernandez, with Sakho maybe & AC as sub, is a better option. It may be just because Carroll has had another long break, but I have a feeling all his injuries have caught up with him & his storming days are gone. But it is worth making sure. When he played in the last five years he nearly always had an impact. So just give it a go. He will be injured before long anyway & if Hernandez/Sakho is the answer as you all think they will succeed & AC will be on the bench.

  9. **** me what is wrong with you lot.If you aint moaning about the players its the manager, not the manager the owners, not the owners the stadium.

    • We are not moaning about any of that we are just saying a player who has scirecd goials at every club he has been at when played up front in and in and around the box a bit ?!ike linikear in his day but we buy him and play him on the wing ..if you think that’s not totally insane then I’m afraid you are …fact sorry but its true

  10. Hate to mention this to all who want Sakho in the team in place of AC: He ain’t staying after the January transfer window, so why bother playing him at all???? Bilic is a proven ‘tinkerer’, and he’ll always be trying to fit square pegs into round holes, which ultimately, will be his un-doing.
