Brum keeper available to sign for free

darrenHammers Goal Keeper target Darren Randolph has turned down a new contract at Birmingham City and appears to be on the verge of joining West Ham on a free transfer. The Republic of Ireland international keeper rejected the club’s offer of a new deal and will depart as a free agent after two years at the club ends on 30th June.

“Unfortunately Darren has informed us he will be leaving and naturally we are sorry to see him go,” manager Gary Rowett told the club’s official website earlier this week. He has been an excellent player for us, an integral part of the team that finished tenth this season. Success breeds success and  players do get other opportunities put before them which they feel they have to take.Darren leaves with our very best wishes and our thanks for his contribution. As a Club we now move on and we look elsewhere.”
Randolph moved to Birmingham from Motherwell in the summer of 2013  and has made 92 appearances. He ended the season by keeping three consecutive clean sheets and wasn’t beaten for the final five hours of his Birmingham career.

Jussi Jääskeläinen’s contract runs out at the end of the June and West Ham announced earlier this week he will be not be offered a new contract. Another West Ham goal keeper target, Daniel Bentley looks set to sign a new contract with Southend United following promotion.
