Byram linked with interest from Arsenal

sambyramwhu_1The Daily Express have linked Hammer Sam Byram with possible interest from Arsenal. 22-year old Byram only joined the Hammers Championship side Leeds in the January transfer window on a four and a half year contract costing West Ham a reported £3.75m transfer fee.

Byram made just four appearances last season clocking up 286 minutes on the pitch in a West Ham first team shirt

According to Italian site Tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal are now interested in a move for the right-back. The report claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will target Byram if Barcelona succeed in signing Hector Bellerin.

  1. With your comment “Bilic is thought to favour Michail Antonio as his first choice right back”, are we starting to see the re-emergence of the buried seeds of “Have foot, will shoot it off” (AKA ‘The (real) West Ham Way’)?
However brilliant Slav undoubtedly is, actually CHOOSING Antonio at RB (when he could look to buy an alternative) is sheer wasteful MADNESS (made all the worse as Antonio doesn’t really want to play there), making Slav a flawed genius IMO.
Goals-for lost out: 15-20 + Goals-against ‘created’ = 5…and some player discontent thrown in for good measure!
Bonkers, bonkers, bonkers…and just how much was DS prepared to pay for a striker??

  2. …Oh dear…with the complete lack of any news about buying a RB, the ghastly reality is actually starting to sink in….Now THAT is truly depressing… Maybe Woy-style thinking has been influencing behind the scenes????? ….massive BOO from me!…

  3. The transfer market only opened in the last couple of days.Give them a bloody chance,it doesn’t shut till the end of August.

    • Rumours for a striker: Endless.
      Rumours for a RB: Zero.
Comment about RB “Bilic is thought to favor Michail Antonio as his first choice right back”.
Denials of “Bilic is thought to favor Michail Antonio as his first choice right back” = zero
      I rest my case!
I would love nothing better than to be proved wrong, and that behind the scenes there is loads going on for a RB, and that the media silence and above comment is a smokescreen to get a RB bought on the quiet….BUT that feels a bit unlikely…We’ll see…

  4. Sam Byram will become our regular rb in the near future IMO.We wanted him this transfer window but got him early to stave off other interest.Nordtveit can play there,Hutchinson if we were to buy him can play rb.Thats without Tommo if he were to stay.Thats before the rbs we could be after but we know nothing of..Antonio WILL NOT be our regular be next season im sure
