Carroll bench expectations

Slaven-Bilic-Andy-Carroll-Football365The Mirror’s Darren Lewis  is confirming our view that Andy Carroll will be on the bench at Watford tomorrow evening.

We  have reported over the past couple of days that it is more a case of his match fitness than injury and that he is likely to be in the squad.

And today Darren – who enjoys particularly good links to the club – writes: “Andy Carroll is expected to be back on the bench for West Ham’s trip to Watford on Saturday.

The 28-year-old striker was in fine form with four goals in as many games before a groin injury sidelined him for  2-2 draw against West Brom. It is understood Carroll is not fit enough to start, having not trained properly.

Although his injury has not given the club cause for concern, the Irons are determined not to rush Carroll back into the starting line-up too soon.

With a forward line of Michail Antonio, Sofiane Feghouli and new signing Robert Snodgrass, the Hammers were unlucky not to beat the Baggies and left boss Slaven Bilic confident that they will be able to cope at Vicarage Road.”
