Carroll, Chicharito, Reid, Kouyate updates

carrollAndy Carroll remains no better than 50-50 to make a return to the side against Chelsea tomorrow and Cheik Kouyate is battling to be fit after sustaining a hamstring injury.

Sources inside the club told us this morning that both Carroll and Javier Hernandez are more likely to be on the bench than in the team.

Chicharito has only been back in training for three days and David Moyes is unlikely to launch him into such a match with so little training behind him.

Kouyate is reported as a major doubt and Winston Reid is battling to recover from a hamstring injury and James Collins remains sidelined.

Both defenders have only been back in training for three days and it’s likely that Declan Rice and Angelo Ogbonna are set to form the central defensive partnership.

  1. So the injury saga continues ; nothing has changed over the last two years . Half a team as usual . But , it seems that Moyes is using available players to better advantage . Some younger players are starting to get a look in and the selection together with formation can give us some optimism . We were never on the list of favorites for relegation and there is still no reason for us to be on it . We are suffering on a huge scale at the moment and looking like late candidates for relegation . ( sounds like gobbledook, I know ) . But we are improving whilst those around us are not . The Chelski game is Massive , as have been all our games this season . It is the most Win Game we have had since the season began .
I won’t pretend to tell Moyes who to pick and where or how they should play . Not my job.
Some picks though are obvious , Noble is a no , Hart is a no and Ayew is a not-so-sure .
Losing Carroll leaves a huge hole ( I know there are those that welcome it ,,,,,,, not Hammers fans imo ) that is difficult to fill . Arnautovic needs to up his game and Those injured players need to get out of beneath Thier mothers skirts and get on with it . Never seen so many so called MEN that can’t play due to a knock or otherwise , it’s hard to understand for a fan like me that turned out every Sunday for a pub team and went to work on Monday and then turned up for training ready to play the following Sunday .
It takes Guts and determination to win games ; something thats lacking with today’s crop of overpaid and overrated footballers . It seems they have only a heart for Thier bank accounts . Supporting your local Club is part and parcel of living , it gives you that certain something you need to face up to Monday’s . Moral is everything . Low Moral = poor performance and a higher Moral = a sense of achievement .
Just get on with it and play through the pain ,,, ffs .

    • Kevin, to suggest that you’re not a Hammers fan if you’d prefer to see someone else up top rather than Carroll is ridiculous. We all get to decide who we think will do the job well, without our allegiance being questioned, thank you.

Also, today’s players are built entirely differently than in your day. Good for you for turning out, come what may, but you’re wrong to criticise what you don’t know. Unless you’re on the training ground each day, your opinion is just that. An opinion, and a negative one at that. Getting a bit sick of all the negative keyboard warriors thinking it’s their duty to preach to the rest of us as if we’re naive. I agree with some of your opinions, but let’s try and cut out the negative player bashing, shall we?

      • Seems you have totally misunderstood everything I said , Buddy . You must be one of those younger fans that haven’t been through the treadmill over 50 yrs . No real experience of being a Hammers fan . Just recent history .

  2. Can Sky please tell Merson to shut the Phuck up !! .
“ Beating Chelsea is not important to West Ham “ ??? . ,,, and there I was thinking that every game was important for every team every week in every Club in every town / and fans alike .. silly me . He probably thought that some games were so unimportant it meant he could go on the jolly up every night . No wonder he never got a look in for England ., or ever got the chance to manage .( not that he has the Bollo@ks anyway ) Why the heck does he occupy a seat on the Sky Football Judges Panel .??? .

  3. Gald they are on the mend. But I do think Sahko should start this one tho bc cost £30k to start him Antonio will likely be up front again. Tho him & Sakho together would be nice on the counter attack.
I don’t want AC injured & think he could make impact Sub but I think when he starts it slows us down to much & changes our play.
