Carvahlo’s tiny Hammers win

West Ham fans are split right down the middle over whether the Hammers should move in on Sporting Lisbon’s defensive midfielder William Carvahlo.

This time last year the club was involved in a highly charged and bitter battle with the Portuguese club which resulted in supposed e mails being made public, insults thrown  from Lisbon to London and the threat of legal actions being issued.

Sporting wanted £43 million for the player and in our latest poll we asked fans to vote on whether the 26 year old should be bought this summer based on what he showed for his international side in the World Cup epic game against Spain.

And the result came out as the closest of any of our polls so far with the only a tiny majority believing we should go for it.

A total of 896 votes were cast by those who want him to sign (50.68 per cent) and 872 (49.32 per cent) against a move.

  1. 43m to free, and the vote is that close. Time to move on in my opinion. Not for me !

    • Exactly …. trouble is we flatter to deceive all these supposed deals getting close…..we always get beat at the post because the dildo twins bicker over pennies instead of sealing the deals. I am sure it’s not easy but we always end up with players no one else wants for the sake of a shilling.

  2. Looks like the Brexit figures, he isn’t the player I thought he was,I was under the impression he was a roaming beast that made play from deep with an air of authority in the middle,in fact his passes were mostly three yard sideward balls, and he was very static,I know he was up against one of the better sides in the world cup,and international football is notoriously slower and different from league football but my first full viewing leaves me with questions.COYI

    • i’ve only seen him play once before – albeit against a weakened Barcelona side in a Champions League tie – and he looked much more mobile and effective.
perhaps unfair to judge on Friday night’s game when he couldn’t really be faulted for not getting a tackle in on anyone
£43m for Carvalho or £25m for Joao Mario, who came on and by my counting barely touched the ball???!!!
