Changes ahead as Irons head for Cheltenham

adrian-west-hamDeclan Rice looks booked for his second start for the Irons at Cheltenham Town tomorrow evening in the League Cup clash.

But hopes that young Nathan Holland may get his chance along wth Toni Martinez appear to have been ruled out by their involvement in the under 23s victory over Spurs yesterday.

Manager Slaven Bilic knows he faces a must win clash – althoug the Sky cameras at the match suggest the broadcaster may be smelling blood!

With speculation already on the rise about Bilic’s position anything other than a convincinr the League Two team will cause increasing serious speculation.

He will of course ring the changes and among those who are likely to get their first run out of the season are Adrian, Byram and Collins.

Sam-Byram-637845And this maybe an opportunity to start Sakho who would find this a useful game to increase his match fitness whilst Antonio too could benefit from another game before the weekend.

This could well be the team Bilic puts out: Adrian; Byram, Rice, Collins, Cresswell; Antonio, Fernandes, Obiang, Ayew, Hernandez, Sakho.

Cheltenham were beaten 3-0 at Carlisle on Saturday and are currently sitting 20th in the division just five places off the bottom.

  1. Bottom of the tables clash, then.

  2. This has got a scrappy 1-0 possibly after extra time written all over it.

  3. Well spank em Coyi,s
    3-5-2 πŸ˜‰

  4. Report in the paper today that Bilic’s position will be reviewed by the club in October. Before the Slav lovers wade in, yes it is a newspaper report which we all know etc etc As it happens I think it could come quicker than that if we don’t start to show some signs of life. And yes I know we have only played two games & no I am not wetting my pants as far as I can tell. It is just an observation, not a call for his head – yet! The press will certainly be stirring it up if we don’t get an easy win tomorrow & something from this week’s game.

Should spank em Laz but you know how these things go. Remember Sheff u a couple of years back at the same stage? Expecting goals galore But ended in total frustration then sitting there until 10pm & losing on pens. Home at 12.30.

    • Go further back 64, old harry redknapp took me up to Swindon back in the day , and got stuffed 3-1 , harry didn’t even get on the park , H was ****ed at that god bless him☺
We are renound for it lol πŸ˜‚ its just another year to get through lol πŸ˜‰
      Its the norm 😁

  5. Oh yeah & that was at UP!

  6. Ah sorry. Hugh has already beaten me to it on that non story about Bilic. Oh well you heard it here second.

  7. Is the unplayable relegation busting demi god available πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

  8. Cheltenham will definitely be gunning for us . At Home , Sky TV , dreams of a massive scalp , west ham not exactly setting the League alight , uncertainty about formation , dodgy defense ect ect .
This is a Must Win Game for Bilic and the Hammers . Anything less would be both a disaster and an embarrassment . Hope we get no injuries .
We should be comfortable winners though . Well that’s what I’m expecting . Mind you I often expect that , silly boy .

  9. As I live up the road I shall be there (neutral dress and zip-mouthed) among the locals but hoping to see a goal fest in our favour for once. COYI!

    • Brave lad Ray, sitting watching West Ham amongst the great unwashed of the lower leagues and expecting NOT to show any allegiances….brave…….

  10. Have a great one, Ray. Bring us home a win.

  11. Its a two horse race ! I’m putting Β£20 on the favourite. πŸ˜‰
