Chicharito decides to copy Arnautovic, Lanzini and Messi

Hammer Javier Hernandez has been the latest West Ham player to dye his hair blonde copying his West Ham teammates Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini.

The trend amongst footballers started in the summer of 1998 when the World Cup was held in France. The Romanian national team captured the hearts of many due to a slight change of hair colour midway through the tournament.

Romania started the tournament by winning their first two matches against Colombia and England. But then success (or superstition) got to their heads (or hairs) they decided to dye their hair bleach blonde in either an attempt to keep luck on their side or to better distinguish each other on the pitch.

Although there have been various football players that went for the bleached-blonde look after 1998, it wasn’t until the summer of 2016 when Lionel Messi dyed his hair blonde it become popular again.

Let’s hope it brings him luck against Brazil later today.
