Chicharito gets Hammers thumbs up

Former Hammers favourite Stan Lazarides reckons it’s vital  Chicharito is given a chance to prove himself under Manuel Pellegrini over the 2018/19 season.

Little Pea is having a magnificent World Cup at the moment having scored twice in the opening games as Mexico have maintained their 100 per cent record.

Speaking to  Goal, the Aussie said: “You’ve got to remember certain players perform better [in their national team].

“The Mexico team are all in sync and I just feel with Hernandez he wasn’t quite clicking with his midfielders and strikers.

“He’s a good player, I just felt that cohesion didn’t quite work last season whereas in Mexico they’re all instinctive and all knew where they were – they were really good and surprised me.

“I would persevere with Hernandez because he’s something different that the Hammers don’t have and until you get someone different it would be the only time I’d let him go.”

  1. I agree with Lazaridis. We can’t let him go unless we get a better replacement. He will be given his chance to show what he can do, but he will have to deliver.
Stan is right that he was not clicking with his teamates last season, and he needs to change that.

  2. Agreed Hugh!
Providing we can land Anderson, then together with Arnautovic, Chicharito may really work well under the astute eye of Pellegrini.
2 Aussies can’t be wrong, eh?
