China may be calling this Irons striker

Britain West Ham ValenciaEnner Valencia could become a Chinese takeaway once the summer transfer window opens.

The club is ready to offload the misfiring striker and ClaretandHugh can reveal that options in China are currently being explored.

The player has been able to recapture the form he showed when forging a successful partnership with Diafra Sakho on his arrival and has become the butt off the terrace boo boys over recent weeks.

Now the club has decided to allow the 26 year old to move on if the right offer arrives despite him having a contract until 2019.

The Ecuador international has managed nine goals in 58 appearances for the Irons and we were told this morning: “The club would expect to get something close to what they paid for him – £12 million – despite him being to be a bit short on confidence right now.”

  1. Still a good player but lacks self belief,we might get £8 million for him or less and what are we going to get for that in return ?
Unless are scouts have found some hidden gem in France or Africa
I would give him one more season and let him work with AC,Sak,Payet,Lanzini,Antonio,in the summer and see if a conexcion can be made, with Samulsun joining them and probably a couple of new ones coming in we could have a great attacking group
He has not become a bad player over night

  2. Form is temporary , class is permanent ,don’t be too quick offloading players not at their best for a while . I reckon he could come good again just as quickly given the opportunity .

  3. If we can get a big money offer from china i think we should take it.valencia isnt a bad player but like hugh said just short on confidence, the problem is that he doesnt fit into any of the systems bilic uses. He has proved that playing uptop by himself is to much for him and he is not a natural winger. He plays best as one of a front 2 …its a shame because he is a good player but just not for us ….imho

  4. Should have taken chelsea’s “£30m” last season

To be fair if we can nick £8m back on him that would pay for Bou, he looks like he knows where the back of the net is.

  5. Shame too because last season the Valencia Sakho combo was pretty effective for a while.

  6. For me, Valencia lacks the physicality to cope in the Prem. How often is he bundled off the ball, or go down looking at the ref? Lanzini, who is far slighter, is far more robust.
Bearing in mind that we are looking at strikers in the summer, where would that put Enner in the pecking order?
    Move him on.

  7. Can’t see him staying , he’s never given the chance to play his preferred position ?
I like the player but he struggles with the physical side of the prem , that’s why carol and sakho will always push him out ?
Let’s not forget that sakho and carol aren’t safe in starting if we get another c/f , then what !
As I said before , its gonna be a interesting summer ? I don’t think we are a big enough club to keep class players on the bench , not yet ? Valencia the first to go IMO .
