Collins gets scan result

collinsJames Collins has received a boost with the news that his ankle injury is not as bad as first believed.

The 34 year old collapsed soon after the start of the second half against Wst Brom with what looked a serous problem but he was a relieved man after a scan yesterday.

The central defender took to Instagram to declare: “Scan has reported ligament damage in my ankle but not as bad as first feared. Working hard already to be back in 3-4 weeks.”

That’s much better news for the Hammers than expected after manager Slaven Bilic admitted he was fearing the worst when Collins was initially withdrawn from the goalless draw at the weekend.

It means he will miss the Spurs and Swansea home games and probably the Burnley away fixture after the next international break.

But he will certainly be targeting the next home game against Brighton and Hove Albion as he starts his recovery from the injury.
