Confirmed: Cressie out for four months

Cresswell goalAaron Cresswell has been ruled out of action for four months.

The news breaking at the moment across the media was exclusively brought to you by ClaretandHugh yesterday when we revealed that the left back could be out of action for between one to six months.

And earlier this afternoon we reported that there will be no cheap replacements or loans sought by the club with our top source telling us the club has gambled for too long on the position and that a top quality player will be brought in.

It’s absoutely dreadful news for the lad and for Slaven Bilic but the news there will be no cheap replacements will be welcomed by the fans.

Cresswell will see a specialist “early next week” when a decision would be taken on whether surgery would be required.

Cressie suffered knee damage in the closing stages of the match against Karlsruher on Saturday when the victim of a horror tackle.

  1. well thats ruined my dinner tonight..

  2. Go and get Robbie Brady, worth every penny of 10m..

  3. Decent shout Johnham!!

  4. What’s all the crap about a horror tackle? You are supposed to be reporting our latest news not rabble rousing. The guy didn’t touch Cressie It was a block tackle and Cressie got injured when he made contact with the ball. Not been kicked, not been chopped down, not been touched **** happens now and then. Hate it to happen to our only left back but it wasn’t even a tackle let alone a horror tackle.

    • I think Hugh & Mr.Dale on WHTID have a competition going down for describing this tackle with the most dramatic description possible.Dale calls the player a Karlsruher THUG & Hugh has it down as a HORROR tackle.
They must have attended the same drama school lol

  5. Charlie Taylor from Leeds might do a job and can play left side midfield also

  6. I would love us to bag Kolarov from City but I can’t see him playing second fiddle to Cresswell once he is fit again.Jose Enrique from Liverpoo going for nothing. We need a player who is decent but knows they will be a squad player when Cress is fit.

    • Enrique might be a good shout, he might also be happy playing mainly European games when Cressie is fit, Charlie Taylor is a good player as Dicollio says and Rico Henry of Walsall, it sounds as the Slav has someone in mind that probably already has European experience so I guess we wait and see ? I notice Cresswell isn’t blaming the player it was a very unfortunate tackle and hope he doesn’t require surgery, fingers crossed that he is only out for the minimum possible time.

      • Another decent shout might be Jeffrey Schlupp from Leicester he also has that athleticism to get up and down the pitch certainly if you are playing 3 cb’s with Antonio as RB put Schlupp on the other side might not be the best defensively but on the counter attack would be frightening.
