Cresswell update ahead of Spurs

cresswellCandHAaron Cresswell is very doubtful for tomorrow evening’s game against Wembley after leaving the action against West Brom with a back injury.

The defender took a knock in the second half and has aggravated an old injury and although described as “very minor” it looks sufficient to keep him out of the match against Spurs.

We were told that the left sided defender’s chances of playing are no better than 70/30 with a source explaining: “He’s had the injury before and it usually only takes three or four days to get over it so he could be available for the weekend and Shrewsbury.”

Michail Antonio and James Collins are also unavailable through injury so it means that manager David Moyes may be forced to lose Arthur Masuaku’s attacking spark and be forced to use him on the left side of a three.

Possible line-up (3-5-1-2): Adrian; Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Rice, Masuaku; Noble, Kouyate; Lanzini; Arnautovic, Carroll.

  1. Iā€™d take that team but swap Kouyate for Obiang.
Atleast Obiang can pass a little bit. Kouyate is just poor at everything at the moment.

  2. Were defiantly going to need 12 on the park basil ? šŸ˜‚
    Maybe a 5-5-1-3 would be better šŸ˜‚

  3. Cresswell is another one suffering poor form and not playing to his usual level lately. And you can add Reid to that list that seems to be ever growing. Kouyate, Obiang, Ayew, Antonio. We have a run of games coming up now (after Spuds) where we can start getting the youngsters in the team to give them the vital Prem experience they need in which to progress their careers with West Ham. Rice, Quina, Oxford, Martinez to name a few. They will play with passion and will be running their hearts out to prove themselves and show that they are worthy of their bench place, sub appearances or even starting in the line up. Come on Moyesy. Look ahead. it might secure your future at the end of the season.

  4. go with 4 at the back drop Reid and play Rice in the right CB role, either that or shift Oggy to left side with Reid in the middle of a back 3, Kouyate at Right CB is another option, he has played well there before. My guess is they know Zab is going to be cream crackered and look to exploit that area between right wingback and right cb, it’s an easy target with Reid there.
