David Moyes off to Austria

West Ham manager David Moyes has reportedly flown to Austria this weekend to inspect potential sites for West Ham’s pre-season training camp this summer. The Hammers spent an 11-day training camp in Austria and Germany last summer under Slaven Bilic.

The first team squad and backroom staff stayed in Bad Waltersdorf, a municipality in the district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld in Styria saying at the Avita Resort hotel.

The location has been used by the Club in the past, while Austria has been the pre-season destination of choice for many Premier League clubs in recent years because of the benefit of training at altitude.

Last July the Hammers started their pre-season by playing Czech First League side FC Slovacko in Rohrbach then Russian side Rubin Kazan in Krottendorf. They also faced Slaven Bilic’s former German side Karlsruher SC in Kapfenberg. They also faced the SK Sturm Graz Development team in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, Austria
