DG sends “we’re all safe” message through CandH

GoldandsullivanExclusive

David Gold has asked ClaretandHugh to let fans know that he, his family and the Sullivans are all “absolutely fine” despite being forced to run the gauntlet of hostile Leicester City fans this afternoon.

The Hammers co-owners and their families were turned on after Andy Carroll hammered home a penalty to put the Irons on level terms before Aaron Cresswell’s thunderbolt put them in front.

DG – speaking exclusively to CandH – said: “It became very unpleasant and hostile. They were throwing abuse at us and chucking their cardboard clapper boards at us but you never know in a mob of people whether there is one very dangerous individual do you?

“The trouble went on until the referee decided to give them a penalty which was the softest I have possibly ever seen. Nobody on the planet will convince me what was a spot kick,

“After that the fans calmed down and we were all ok again but it was quite unpleasant whilst it was going on and I’m not sure what the fans thought we could do about it.

“We were simply watching a game of football the same as them.”

DG was relatively pleased with the team’s response after the disappointment of last Wednesday evening’s FA Cup replay against Manchester United.

He said: “A point against the team I think will be the champions is a good one but we should have won it and I’m bitterly disappointed because that was never a penalty.”

  1. totaly agree with D S never a pen ref just trying to balance it up. what he and his family and friends suffered belies the home sides claim to be a friendly family club

  2. To many crisps and now they think they should just walk away with the league
Vardy should have got a red for cheating
Their first goal was a non runner as we should have had a pen and Huth should have got at least a yellow and a red to follow,
They got a let off with the 2 post near miss,
Why turn on an old man and family because they have one bad decision,
What would they have done if they had our record of bad refs decisions
Never mind still a happy hammer

  3. Shame on the Leicester Chairman and Board to allow such overt unpleasantness and hostility to be visited upon the opposing team’s chairmen and VIP guests. That shows a distinct lack of class on the part of those in charge of Leicester and, sadly, their supporters.

  4. Wish I could say the same bubs but I’m not happy at all, we have all been mugged again !!
If this Leicester team are champs league material , the games gone to pot ? Vardy should get a further ban on top for abusing the ref sending him off ? I hope it collapses and they get their just reward , I have no sympathy for them after today’s antics . And as for moss , he should hang up his whistle , or even better choke on the pea !! A disgrace to the game !
And as for the Dave’s treatment and families , let’s reply in kind when next played !!
    Scum.

  5. Shafted again. As normal. Oh to be a big club and get everything go our way. First pen away for 4 years and then the ref wants to balance it out. robbed again. I’m so fu###ng angry.

  6. After 24 hours and watching the game again and highlights I agree John it does make you angry but I have been feeling like that for 6 weeks since the world started schemes to bring us down,
But life to important to be ****ed every day and after my Spanish friends have had such a bad time under the Nevilles, they had a cracker yesterday beating Barcelona,
Then you realise in football what life is like
I have had 4 crap years until this year and I am not going to let the men in Black and Woy
    Stop me being happy,
Just hope we can get a run going and stop Liverpoor getting a Euro spot from us,

  7. I’m not a bit surprised by this incident, the only trouble i ever had at an away game was at Filbert street in 1979, two of us against ten of them when we had the temerity to beat them 1-2, i’ve never forgotten this and hope the get humiliated in the champions league next season, long time ago but it still rankles…

  8. Their pen was a joke, however what is just as galling is what led up to it. Valencia lost the ball just earlier, then made feeble attempts to tackle back. Then we have AC back there and he got sucked in to a con but should he have been there anyway! Valencia is a liability as is Eminike. I had hoped he would adjust to the PL but he should have followed up on Kouyate’s header in the first minutes which is what poachers do. Both players give the ball away too much and are not strong enough and Valencia bottles everything.

In the same vein Antonio’s poor clearance last week v Man U cost us dearly in the end. We have had a lot of injustice in recent weeks but we in part contribute to our own plight.

It is about time referees clamped down on all the penalty box holding and a few more pens earlier in the season would have solved that. Yesterday it was a joke and Huth seemed to think he was untouchable and should not have been on the pitch.

The Leicester fans should man up as even if they had lost they were/are still in the prime seat to win the league anyway. But I guess there was a lot a fairweather support there glory hunting. Still onwards and upwards we didn’t lose – COYI
