Exclusive: Hammers explode Carroll for Chelsea rumour

andy-carroll-west-ham-unitedWest Ham have received no offers for Andy Carroll to join Chelsea either permanently or on loan.

Despite intense speculation which started when The Sun first ran the story three or four weeks ago, ClaretandHugh can confirm that there has been no contact with Chelsea for either a loan or permanent option.

David Moyes explained following the FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town last night that he was entirely in the dark on the Carroll speculation.

And this morning CandH has been briefed that at this stage there has been no bid whatsoever from the champions despite amazing claims that he could be on his way to Stamford Bridge for £30 million.

However, the club is aware that there may be some minor interest and are not entirely ruling out a bid of some sort as the close of the window gets nears.

They stress though that there has been no contact whatsoever between the two clubs over the player until NOW!

The story is currently being generated by agents, as is always the case during the transfer window, and has caused annoyance inside the LS where once again it is considered a move designed merely to unsettle players.

At this stage the chance of the striker making a permanent move are zero  and any swap loan deal for Michy Batshuayi has been described as “a predictable story to run.”

  1. I can think of a fun television spin off to the transfer window where all the troublesome agents are lined up on a cliff (that has say a 10m drop into water below) and for a charity donation chairmen of affected clubs are each allowed to kick a football at them to knock them off. It has double comedy value, first to see the chairmen attempting some physical exercise and letting their venom out on the ball and secondly if they actually mange to connect with the agents…

  2. Definitely worth pitching that idea to Soccer Saturday! 🙂

  3. What about including a few of the journalists who pick up these made up stories then just repeat them as fact?

Oh …and what about Mike Dean as well? Just because he is Mike Dean. I found myself liking Wenger (a bit) when I read the report of his disciplinary. Apparently stormed into Dean’s changing room & let him have it both barrels. Told him he was a disgrace. And he gets suspended for that? He could have a shorter drop, but into a heap of mud. Or maybe a heap of. …you get the idea.

    • Not for me 64 ! Spray deans nuts with ralegex and have a raffle while he’s in agony where the winner pushes a daisy chain of current northern refs in the prem with dean up front and push em into a active volcano ?😈 that’s what you call entertainment 😜

  4. Supposedly its just btwn agents now. An do can see Conte wants him but Chelsea don’t like to buy over 28. But if get offer of £15m-£20m board wouldn’t turn it down especially if could get Smolov & would be smart business w Injuries etc. But he would score more there bc service
    We need creativity

  5. Don’t get this “board will accept if they have a replacement” shyte! To say this gives fuel to the rumour that our board have some clue, and they haven’t!
Anyway, if we are offered £20m for China Doll, we take it, there isn’t any judgement needed on that one. But whether that money is added to the pot for the ditherer to consider spending is the real issue here. Moyes is supposed to be on no wages but a dirty great bonus to keep us up. So he isn’t short of encouragement to go out and find a bit of quality. Please crack on then!

  6. If it’s rubbish why was Moyes at the Chelsea game tonight, he can only be looking at a player that’s part of the deal, or the other word is he is looking at James Madison of Norwich.
