Fabian Balbuena is a Hammer

Fabian Balbuena is now a Hammer. This photo from inside the London Stadium taken yesterday proves it.

Posted by a Paraguayan radio station Centro al Área  on Twitter his morning it says

“FABIÁN BALBUENA is officially a new WEST HAM UNITED player”

The 26-year-old Centre Back was the captain of the Brazilian side Corinthians until West Ham met the release clause of £3.5m after being contacted by a South American agent.

The defender started his senior career age 18 in Paraguay in 2010 with Cerro Porteno PF moving on to Rubio Nu in 2013 and Club Nacional directly after that. He made his final move in Paraguay to Club Libertad in 2014 staying two years before his eventual move to Brazil in 2016 to join Corinthians in 2016. He made 32 League appearances last season and 58 in all competitions scoring 6 goals.

He is reported to have signed a four-year contract with the Hammers.

On Friday the defender posted a farewell on Instagram. Translated to English it reads: “Eternally grateful to the club for everything. I hope I have repaid all this on the field. To my colleagues, the technical committee, the board of directors and the workers of the club, I have to thank you for everything. I learned a lot and the happiness that I spent here nobody will be able to take. The blood in the eye is forever, eternal continence for you!”

  1. Translates into “ okgood” I think .

  2. That’s dirt cheap for a 26 y/o

  3. Potentially the signing of the summer, now lets go back to Brazil and locate an up and coming CM and forward.
