Since we published the news that Big Sam had broken his silence on his Irons departure, ClaretandHugh readers have been telling us what they think of our former manager.
And the stark reality is they’re not impressed!

oldiron: “Really, what did he expect, 3 wins between Christmas and the seasons end, god he is pathetic if that is a criteria to keep your job. Go away Sam we don’t want to listen to you, you are only making yourself look pathetic . Go and find a team to manage and leave West Ham alone, we will be fine. The more you go on and the more people look at your last 4 months of management you will be lucky to get a job. Be gone and be silent.”

Which I did in the end despite me still feeling very relieved he’s gone. After reading all that stuff even my sense of gratitude stats to dissolve. No matter what happens at our club, even after leaving our club Allardyce will continue to linger: If we do well this season, it’ll all be because of his fantastic groundwork he did in the last four years, leaving Bilic such a brilliant team. If things don’t go so well, it’ll be because Allardyce is no longer with us.”
RayStewartsRightPeg: “I get tired of him banging on about he got promoted as asked. Actually, despite arguably the best squad in the Championship and one of the best transfer budgets, he only managed to luckily scrape through via the Play Offs. Look at the two managers who did better than him in the Championship that sacked – both sacked within months in the PL, one now out of work and the other plying his talents in League 1. Lets not even mention Holloway and Blackpool. I bet none of that is included on his CV!”
essexclarets: “If he wants to see someone who is ungrateful, he should look in a mirror. He was paid £12 million in the 4 years he was manager, what did he really think paying him that amount of money was for..? We were the worst team in the PL since xmas last season & only because we had a 4 game winning run the year before that we didn’t get relegated then.”

It’s basically a penalty shot without a goalie if you put up these Allardyce quotes and ask for fan reactions.
Of course it’ll be mayhem.
It all just lacks class.
I think that after the forced change in tactics at the beginning of last season saw us play some great football the owners decided to raise their expectations. this is normal and it was completely achievable on that form for us to do really well. however Sam got scared and reverted to some crazy tactics, playing players out of position, crazy substitutions, playing players that were clearly not up to it. If I didn’t know better I would say it was deliberate.
I must say if you want to look at a classy attitude, Slav thanked Sam for all of his good work when he joined. That is a sign of good manners.
All im going to say is BIG SAM did a fantastic job getting us back into the pre league not an easy thing to do but other then that I would rather look forward then backwards. We got far to much stuff on right now to be worried about the past. BILLIC looks like his got his **** together and I cant wait for the next game .COME ON U IRONS

What should we expect from Alladyce? He was and is an embarrassment. I for one wish he would never speak, everything that comes out from his mouth is b*£$&**T. He can never be forgiven for the Forest fiasco, I still feel sick to the stomach at the memory of his face that day. He lives in a deluded dream world where he is king. Pathetic. That said, he did do a decent job in many ways, but surely as a competitor, wanting the impossible should not need to be in your contract, but in your blood? I am grateful to him, and relieved he has gone. He would never been entertained by us if we weren’t totally reeling from the nightmare of ‘captain greenback’ aka Avram Grant, who’s torturous infliction we have collectively wiped from our memories!! We deserve better and I for one feel optimistic for the first time in so,so long!Long live Bilic!!!COYI!!!

We knew it wouldnt take long for him to get his snide remarks in.It actually started a few weeks ago when he said the fans would soon be on Slavs back if results didnt start well.A leopard doesnt change its spots.Always someone elses fault,never him.What a despicable man!
So he tried to win every week then ? He dida good job of hiding that fact, especially on the pitch in terms of formations and lineups. Most of those were primarily designed to prevent defeat and respect the point, maybe nick a goal and defend that tiny lead for ten minutes or seventy.
And didn’t he also mark out games as unwinable in advance when looking at the fixtures ?
God knows why so many pundits have fallen for him. We all don’t know if Allardyce will manage a club again at this point, yet it might happen after all, so let’s spare a moment and pity those fans who are unaware of their plight as of yet.
