Felipe Anderson update

West Ham and Lazio along with various intermediaries are still talking about a deal which would see Lazio’s Felipe Anderson become a Hammer.

Reports earlier this week suggested the Italian club had snubbed a £33m bid  but last night another report claimed the initial bid was closer to £22m with £4.4m in  add-ons.

Today reports from Italy are claiming the Hammers have upped their offer to £26.5m with £7m of add-ons.

Lazio has initially put a £44m price on the player’s head but talks between his agent Giuliano Bertolucci and the club saw his price lowered significantly as the player attempt to force a move away.

Some reports in Italy claim the deal is close to be doing done but a Hammers insider, whilst confirming talks were continuing, claimed it remained some way off.

He said: “Talks continue but we are not close as some reports suggest – there’s a way to go.”

Anderson made 32 appearances for Lazio across all competitions last season, scoring eight goals and creating 10 more.

  1. It just seems to !me that every time top players are linked with us it’s either a lie or it’s still a very long way off…is there a time when someone will say yes it’s very close or yes it’s happening..are we going down the same road again also by offering 22 mil for a player who has a 44 mil but out..seems slot like our other windows. To me …

  2. West Ham and Lazio along with various intermediaries ….Too many people involved to make a transfer simple these days!

  3. To be honest i think that Anderson looks quality, but he is unproven in the premier league i don’t understand why we are spending £30 million + on him when we could get Shaqiri for £12m.

    • Good call on Shaqiri. Dead ball specialist and someone who can produce that little bit of magic to unlock a defence, and proven in the premiership.

  4. Well if you are wondering if the owners have turned a new leaf with regards to spending, as other itks on kumb have said they expect Arnie to leave. It’s just papering over the cracks really, sell your best player or record signings every 6 months.

    • Nobody could accuse me of being a board lover Goof, but if Arnie were to go I don’t think it’d be because the board were actively looking at selling him, rather Manure turning his head with the promise of CL football and presumably more wedge.

What WOULD be criminal however is he goes for less than £50mill (remember the Payet statement from Sully about standing our ground and not getting mugged off)?
Personally I think it’s 🐄💩, but we shall see.

  5. If they sell Arnie there would be riots so I very much doubt that would happen…then again who knows with this lot running the club…if they did sell him I think I would have a very long break from West ham

  6. Until @exhammer says there’s legs in it, I don’t believe any transfer gossip. Because most of it is bs if it’s not agent talk, it’s pretend news accounts who tweet fake news to get retweet’s. sad really. But the amount of people who read something, then immediately assume it’s happening is scary.

For me he’s the only one who is proves reliable, he never tweets something which isn’t true.
