Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry will have his first round of talks on Martin Samuelsen’s future next Wednesday night.

Fry is keen to take the Norwegian teenager to London Road for next season’s campaign and told ClaretandHugh exclusively that he will open talks with David Sullivan.

Fry – the David’s manager before they sacked him at Birmingham – has remained big friends with the pair and has been invited as their guest at the FA Cup replay against Manchester United.

He told us: “It’s well known that we’d love to keep Martin on loan next season and this will be an opportunity to hold some preliminary talks on it.

“We haven’t seen much of the lad recently because he came back to Upton Park for important under 21 games and the went off on international duty.

“But we love the lad and it would be great if we could keep him and put him through some hurly burly football and help him to mature. We’ll talk and see where it goes.”

Hope the friendship with fry doesn’t cost an extremely talented kid a career at the highest level. Something tells me he could learn far more from training with the likes of payet and Lanzini than learning about hurly burly lower league football from Barry fry.

If Fry wants to see him play next season tell him to buy a season ticket ( good luck with that ) we need him to replace Moses and if Antonio can make the move from Championship to Premiership so can Samulsun
This boy could fit in as cover or share playing time with Payer and Lanzini

Well it’s looking unlikely that Peterborough will be promoted to the Championship so not sure if he should go back to them. That said, I think another season on loan with a Championship team, playing week in week out, will do wonders for him. Sure, training with quality players will aid his development, but he still has his whole career ahead of him for that. Right now playing time should be his top priority and I would hope West Ham are looking to more experienced players to help us reach new heights.

Antonio has done a fantastic job, but he’s twenty five, has bags of experience and also physically far more developed. I’d also bet my house that earning his stripes the hard way is a big part of why he’s got such hunger and such an incredible work ethic (as opposed to Theo Walcott who’s had far too much far too soon and never fulfilled his potential). The players should take comfort knowing that in Slaven they have a manager who will give them their chance – they just need to go and enjoy playing their football.

I’m quite happy for the kid to play another season on loan. Will do him the world of good playing competitive football week in week out.Having watched him a few times this season there ain’t no way he is ready for the Premiership imho.

id keep him next season and give him several sub appearances & early cup matches, if Slav then thinks he’s not quite ready its easy to send him out on loan towards Xmas
