olympic-stadium-and-west-ham-badge-pic-pa-391417952David Gold has revealed  following ClaretandHugh’s exclusive story that the club has received planning permission to increase the Olympic Stadium capacity to 60,000, that a further 6,000 seats may become available.

CandH broke the news as early as 6pm last night (Wed) and later Gold suggested on Twitter that the further 6k seats could become available.

The great news that the Hammers fans are pushing capacity requirements to the absolute limits came as Gold replied to a follower on the social network.

@Dan Mills‏@mrdantheman123 said: “Absolutely brill Olympic Stadium to increase to 60,000. Can it increase further (66,000) in future?

DG reponded: “66,000 seats are possible but it will take time and money. dg

The cost involved would cover such items as toilet facilities but it now seems certain that the club is on its way to filling every corner of the OS.

And this will give great hope to the thousands who remain on the priority list hoping that they can be accommodated.

I never doubted our amazing support, with the greatest owners in our history and super Slaven in charge we Would sell 66,000 Easy… Thousands of West Ham fans will still struggle to find tickets – we could be entering the greatest time in our history, what a time to be alive

With the stadium full to the brim, it is going to be ROCKING! Fantastic time to be a WHU supporter; indeed historic. “Fortune’s NOT always hiding”!
The 2 Davids and Karren have turned a club in dire circumstances (after those Icelandic idiots) into a Prem powerhouse in a few short years: That is meteoric. Who else has done that? (Clough maybe). They deserve every accolade going. They haven’t come in as billionaires like Chelsea or Man City. They have done it through skill and brilliant business acumen. Personally, next season, I don’t want a big name charlie striker coming in upsetting the applecart. I’d prefer someone lean, mean and hungry to establish a reputation just like the others…Let the Davids find another gem ….although I must confess, I would love to see Jonjo Shelvey back in Claret and Blue…his defence splitting passes through the middle are worth a goal a game, let alone his other skills.
Are we fans lucky or what??!
How are Sheff Utd doing with the £35 million they ‘stole’ off us? Rotting in Div 1! HA! Bet their fans are green with envy!

Sorry Coy no place in our team for that lame looser he plays well for one month for every new team then rubbish,
Who would you drop for him Kouyate ? Noble ? Payet ? Lanzini ? Antonio ?
Or do you want him on the bench with Obiang Nordv Callum
Don’t be so quick to waste our money on a second rater
Still think we could get 70,000 in the ground and won’t have trouble filling it,

70,000 was mentioned as the absolute capacity, and I agree with you there will be no problem filling it.
I also agree with you about Jonjo.

Don’t need any more space then that 60,00 for us and 2 sections kept as independent ares for away fans then if the other side don’t want all there seats we can fill a section up with extra fans,
I don’t dislike Shelvey just think we already have better players at the club and more then we need, when he left Charlton he did not want to play for us,
Plus I prefer to finish games with 11 players which we seem to do quite well unlike many teams who want to kick us off the pitch and Mr Shelvey has that dark side to his game
