Gold makes a European pledge

gold-david-gold-west-ham-co-owner-july-2014_3179990David Gold is ready for the club to step up to the financial plate if the club make it into Europe at the end of this memorable season.

The Hammers have roared back into top six contention with real style and both the Champions and Europa League look realistic ambitions for a club on a massive move forward.

And the co-chairman – who was mocked earlier in the season when claiming the top clubs would be looking over their shoulders at the Irons is very much having the last laugh.

Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh he said: “Are we ready for Europe if that’s our destiny? Yes we are or we will be. You have to cope with growth in business and you have to do the same with success in this game.

“If that’s where we are going to end up at the end of this incredible season we will go out and get the players we need to maintain a European challenge.”
