Gold: ‘We can cope without Kouyate ‘

Kayoute westDavid Gold is confident the Irons can cope whilst Chiehou Kouyate recovers from a groin injury.

The summer signing is set to be sidelined for a possible maximum of six weeks although the player believes he could be back within a month as ClaretandHugh reported earlier today.

The midfielder will receive treatment to assist the healing process, including swimming pool exercises in the early stages and Gold believes the club’s busy summer in the transfer market is about to pay off.

Using his favoured social network -Twitter -to give his views, the co chairman was upbeat in his assessment of the situation.

He said: “In the past losing a player like C.Kouyate would be devastating but now we have quality back up. Cheikhou get well soon. dg
