Hammer in dispute over signing-on fee

west_hams_sofiane_feghouli_celebrates_scoring_their_third_goal_317515Leading Turkish News Agency Hurriyet are today reporting that the Hammers have accepted a €5m bid from Galatasaray for Sofiane Feghouli.

However they add that although the Algerian is close to agreeing personal terms his West Ham signing on fee is holding up his move to Turkey.

Hurriyet claim the Hammers agreed a €4.5m signing on fee with the player when he joined the Premier League side last summer. It was agreed he would receive this over three seasons, and the Hammers have already made first €1.5m payment.

However, the winger now wants the remaining €3m before he leaves West Ham, which has stalled his move. Feghouli thinks West Ham owe him the signing on fee, but the London club will not back down to his demands.

The 27-year old’s agent has asked Galatasaray if they would pay this, but the Turkish club have refused because they are already prepared to pay €5m to land the player.

  1. All very strange . IMO Feghouli was starting to show a lot of improvement last season . Even some fans on this forum were saying so at the time . What he heck is going on .

    • Don’t know Kevin something seems very off like they are offloading just to do so. Bilic even said he had a future here and wanted him to stay. He was nothing of not all about doing OOS for the club and when he got a run of games he did. If not for him at Burnely we would have finished 3 spots lower possibly.
And to give him away for free he deserves that money bc he didn’t even want a move to begin with. So its maddening he scored 4 goals which is decent for our season. Bad business. And then have to pay £10m plus for Brahimi who we are linked with who is Algerian teammate and 27 same stats

  2. We should keep him for at least 1 more season to see what he can do. He was actually quite important and influential in our last handful of games and looked like hed finally settled.

  3. Ship him out he is just a show pony.

  4. This is sheer utter madness – his value on number of respected index sites is between 10 and £12 millon. 27 games, 4 goals, 3 assists, was just starting to come good.

  5. Index sites are bull****.

    • Maybe so but £4m for a player who has a record of goals and assists higher than Brahimi at same age is worth more than £4m since after they pay jom back which he is owed it is a free transfer

  6. Pocket the 500 g and let the bloke go , far to inconsistent , a couple of half descent games and some wet their pants , lol he constantly came in field from the right leaving the r/h side exposed and was always looking to play in the 10 roll, couldn’t defend at all. I never saw him once try to get beyond the oppo’s back four by playing on their toes and use his pace to get behind ,lost count the amount of times we had an opportunity break on the right but he was never there , each to their own but for me he was of no use to us as a team player,
Pay the money and nick 500g , go buy sigurdson to play alongside lanzini, ( no chance ) 🙂

    • When he got a run of game he was good. And I would love the Norse God here but we aren’t going pay £40m for him. And he is worth the money. He was a good squad player who can play both wings letting him go for free is daft. We could have waited for a Series A or LA liga club if they wanted real money. Makes no sense.

  7. We get rid of him and end up keeping Snodgrass who by all accounts we could have raised more money for, or maybe Snodgrass is the next out of the window…

  8. But we Bid £23m for Muriel and are apperntly planning a bid for Right Winger Marko Art. Which at the price Stoke will demand and he is a right winger area we are covered. He is also inconsistent, Antonio stays in right wing he gets is double digits in goals. Marko has around 27 goals in all comps with Stoke. Don’t see the Logic wouldn’t be an upgrade can play Left. Helder Costa is one we should renew our interest in

    • Take that back upon further research he does play both wings and is good on left especially with assists sonic we get a CF not a bad buy. Still not hugely consisntent and attitude issues. But he is 28 so Bilic will be keen. And 2 footed which is lovely so for the right price. But at this point are we a step up from Stoke we would have to pay him a big wage too. Any player who is highly experienced and Known will have hefty wage. 6’4″ big for a winger. And could cover CF.
