Hammers chase highly rated midfielder

dendWEST HAM are understood to be ready to move for Anderlecht’s Belgium international Leander Dendoncker.

The midfielder played a major part in helping the Brussels club to last season’s title, and is set to play at the World Cup finals.

The two Manchester clubs, City, Chelsea and Everton have all shown previous interest in the 22-year-old.

Widespread reports in Belgium claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen on the player who has recently made a successful switch to centre-back from his normal defensive midfield role.

His current deal runs until 2021, but he is believed to have been promised a green light to leave this year if a suitable offer comes in.

West Ham have contacts with Anderlecht via  the move of Cheikhou Kouyate in 2014.

  1. Offer kouyate as part of the deal.
Kouyate goes back to a club that will want him..
And we get shot of him and get a talented younger player.
    Good deal allround.

    • great idea lol
I’m not sure they would want him but they could see it as good business. They are always under pressure to sell their best players, and to get a better Kouyate than they sold, back would be good business.
They both do similar jobs, but Dendoncker is better as defensive midfielder; just what we want.

  2. Finnaly a deal I like outside of L w some youth & his possible if they will pay £15-£20m
But this are players we should be linked w young hungry players ready to prove themselves in PL. We have our old heads.
Still think we need added creativity in Mid & cover for Lanzini as well in someone like Elynoussoui James Madisson Norwich Hakim Ziywch etc.
We lack fwd play & creativity badley

  3. This guy sounds out of our league to me. The sad truth is that such a mess has been made of running this club over the last two years that we are not an attractive proposition for a promising young player. The other clubs mentioned as being interested in him will take him if he is worth taking. We are now in a position where we have to settle for the likes of Coquelin or older players unable to get in their own first team. We will only get the real bargains such as Payet a) if they have ‘problems’ or b) if you have a top notch scouting system that flags up some undiscovered overseas talent. Recent evidence suggests b) does not apply to this club!

  4. Every day I wake in anticipation that they have been abducted by alians and replaced with clones with personalities , footballing brains and money that is never ending to supply the next level the bull💩ers promised !! Alas another sad day to get through lol 😉

  5. Too true Laz. But look on the bright side- we could have been brought up to be Gooners. Then you have the expensive ground, the money, the top players…AND YOU ARE STILL RUBBISH!!! And you are managed by a sour faced Frenchman who thinks there is a conspiracy against his club.

  6. 😂 yes but I’d rather be a gooner than a spud lol !! At least their in the champions league every year and get to Wembley !!! Still , when the delboys find that watch we,ll be laughing all the way to the top 😂.

  7. Latest comment I read in the Belgian press are that Dendoncker has been plateauing for one year (which is true, he has not progressed this year like he did constantly before that), and that he really needs a new challenge.

I would not mind him and Tielemans who is not playing that much for Monaco.
