Hammers delay move for big target

joe-hart-manchester-city-hull-premier-league_3001982The Hammers hopes of signing a top level goalkeeper have been put on hold.

The club has regularly been linked with a move for either Joe Hart or Asmir Begovic but a top Hammers insider has revealed that neither move is on before deadline day.

Top choice Hart is on wages of around £100,000 a week and with Darren Randolph showing outstanding form his job is safe at least until the summer.

However, the Hammers will allow Adrian to move on should they receive offers when the season has come to a close as that would allow them to offload around £40k wages making a move for Hart or Begovic move possible.

A source said: “Obviously we like Hart and would love to bring him to the club but that is one that will have to wait until the summer window.

“We have had more pressing needs in the January window.”

  1. Really?
How much better than Randolph is Hart?
Does that justify adding £100k to the wage bill?
I know that Adrian is probably on his way this summer and that we need a better no.2 than Spiegl, but we should bring in an up and coming young keeper as back-up and spend our capital and wages on improving the outfield squad.

    • I tend to agree and feel that Hart is no huge improvement on either of our best two keepers. He is just as blunder prone, just look at the late goal he conceded v us at the end of the 2013-4 season .He is a good keeper but we have greater priorities for our money.

      • Maybe just me but I feel he would be a considerable upgrade, Randolph is solid but he rarely has games that he wins you, all goalkeepers have blunders we should know we had McKnightmare and Calamity James had his moments, I would put Hart more in the James version where yes he has the odd major blunder but overall he wins you the matches on his own by brilliant saves.

  2. Most clubs have two seasoned pros as Goalkeepers. Its a bloody dodgy game to play having only one & a youngster as backup imho 😉

  3. I would take Hart over Randolph everytime.Im not sure for 100 bags a week it is worth it as it stands though.

  4. I don’t think we should hang around to get Hart…he’s a proven top keeper with bags of experience, he would command the defence aswell as bringing confidence to the entire team…there aren’t too many top keepers out there and if we want to move in the higher echelons he’s the type of player that would also help us attract the type of ambitious players we need to move forward….100 bags a week would be money well spent imho …

  5. Sky reporting the French thing is off to OM for a medical then.

  6. The trouble with Hart is he has had a bad hamstring injury, since then he just isn’t the same keeper.City noticed, hence Torino.
Randolph is in good form why change.COYI

  7. O/T Saw that Iorfa didn’t play for Wolves.Resting him or could a sneaky deal be in the offing?

  8. I have no trouble with the pair we have when both have leaked goals our defence and midfield have been woeful
Adrian is still a great keeper and if he is happy playing alongside Randolph why waste money on wages and transfer when we need to get our defence up to standards
Did all that. Summer rubbish chasing a forward and we are back to our normal front line,
Get another RS central defender and another RB
Then add Oxford and Burke to those
    Midfield is OK
So it’s 1 top proven forward to add to Bambi and Sak plus Martinez and Fletcher plus Browne
    Just an old mans opinion

    • Apparently Leeds are in the frame to take Fletcher for the rest of the season.I got that in before BBC First & Peppermoney disturb my reading here.
