Hammers eyeing keeper prospect

West Ham are monitoring Fleetwood Town keeper Alex Cairns as a possible summer signing

Slaven Bilic is today reported to be monitoring  Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Alex Cairns.

The Mail reports that Cairns – released by Leeds United in 2015, has broken into Fleetwood’s side this season and played a pivotal role in their rise into League One promotion contention with 15 clean sheets.

Cairns is seen as a keeper of rich promise who could eventually challenge for a first team place.

Although he failed to appear in October he has since cemented his place as first choice starting each of the last 28 league games for the club and refusing to be beaten in over half of those fixtures.

West Ham remain keen to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City though the England international also has interest from the likes of Chelsea and Everton.
