Hammers fans give transfer target a huge brush off

West Ham fans have clearly heard more than enough of the name Felipe Anderson.

Talk of him joining the club has virtually dominated the Hammers transfer window and the vast majority taking part in a ClaretandHugh poll believe it’s time to call it a day on a possible transfer.

CandH revealed yesterday (Tues) that Lazio want a £40 million fee and £10 million in add ons but that’s too much for most taking part in our poll.

We asked quite simply of our followers: “Would you pay £50 million for Felipe Anderson?” and the overwhelming reaction was a ‘no way.”

With over 1000 votes already in, a total of 1077 of you (89.38 per cent) have the idea an overwhelming thumbs down with only 128 – that’s 10.62 per cent reckoning he was worth that sort of outlay.

The Hammers meanwhile have offered £31m plus £6 million in add ons making it clear that is their final offer.

  1. I think he is worth that outlay, but this is more a matter of principle. If they keep moving goalposts then we must draw a line. We can’t be seen as everybodys muggins. move on to other targets, but leave the back door open.

    • In agreement with you-we can’t develop a reputation of being desperate. Personally speaking, I would prefer his Brazilian mate, Bernard, who looks to be a much more dynamic player-lightning fast and hit the ball with either foot. That said, rumors abound that Arsenal may be ahead of us in any attempt to sign him. I’d be careful about using the expression, ‘leave the back door open’ (lol) for your own safety!!

      • I think getting both Bernard and Anderson would be great; a real message to the world. It would encourage other players to join, believing we would be a CL club very soon. That would be a real step up. Right now players might not join us because they don’t see a very strong squad, but unless they join us we won’t have a very strong squad. Also with a stronger squad we could walk away from chairmen of other clubs who move goal posts.
