Hammers hunt late signings

David_Sullivan_gives_Hammers_signWest Ham are still actively pursuing players as the season approaches but under the club’s new zipped mouth policy names are hard to come by.

However, Slav and the board are keen to bring in a couple of younger players with a senior source telling us: “You can’t keep signing players on which their is no upturn. We are on the look out.”

Whilst the manager is happy with his summer spend thus far, he and the board have regularly been discussing the prospect of bringing in at least two more players.

With several of our own academy defenders impressing and with Slav having ruled out another striker it seems the area we are looking at is midfield.

The manager, David Sullivan and Tony Henry have maintained an impressive wall of silence this summer on their transfer business but a lot of frenzied activity is taking place inside the club as they attempt to tie up deals with their latest targets.

Sullivan’s pedigree shows that he loves to do late deals in the summer window and it would be a big surprise if one or two players weren’t to arrive before deadline day.

  1. Chieck will be out septemberish if he can get fit that is! So sully better pull his finger out and his cash πŸ˜‚ x 2 πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ˜‰

  2. Have i missed something.when did Bilic rule out another striker?
I have too admit i didnt see that interview or article.

    • Days ago gaz 😟

      • Hmm well i saw a piece about him not wanting third choices i think.I dont think he said anything about not signing another striker.Maybe that wasnt it Salmon.I havnt kept up with everything in the last few days.

  3. 15 have left and we signed 4 one of which is a loan ..I know a few we’re kids but we def need 1 or 2 more ..if u work out what we have let go we haven’t spent that much ..and with the injuries starting already ?????? We want a good start ..I thousand we would sign another forward tbh as we can’t rely on Carroll or sak until they getva run of games

  4. We will bring in another 2 or 3 i reckon & if we dont then thats life. Many fans want the kids to be given a go so they may get their wish 😁
Then the kids will play, have a few dodgy games & the same fans will be screaming that we should have signed more experienced players & not hav been left too rely on kids lol.I can see it already πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  5. What’s the limit on players in 1st team squad for Premiership?

    • if i remember correctly its 25, but U21s need not be registered….

      Our squad (youngsters)
      GK: Hart, Adrian
      LB: Creswell, Masuaku
CB: Reid, Fonte, Ogbonna, Collins (Rice)
      RB: Zabaleta, Byram
MC: Noble, Fernandes, Obiang, Koyate (Makasi)
AMR/L/C: Lanzini, Antonio. Aurnotovic, Ayew, Snodgrass, Feghouli (Quina, Samuelson, Holland)
      ST: Hernandez, Sakho, Carroll (Martinez)

  6. Funny how a certain ITK has a week off Twitter and all the newsnow linked sites are struggling for news.

    • Yeah wouldn’t say this is one struggling for news but there doesn’t seem to be much tangible stuff in the press. On the subject of transfers I would imagine they would be loan signings or loan to permanent, Leicester have signed Iheanacho now so maybe that will free up a striker or two from them, I am sure we will be linked again with Batshuayi but Chelsea won’t let him go, maybe we should try a loan bid for Costa πŸ˜‰

      • Slim chance of that happening 32 πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Costa πŸ’£ you naughty boy πŸ˜‰
Looking at nam,s list shows that we are 2 short of the 25 not including fegouli
        There’s 5 + a total waste of spacer 😎 I would think about moving on , but that’s me 😁
        Bring in a c/h and 2 m/f and I’ll be content πŸ‘…

        • Feghouli will still be with us I reckon at the end of the window and I won’t be disappointed about that, if we get players in we need some blistering pace, maybe Wallcott but probably more likely Gray although he isn’t exactly blistering just quick.

  7. With Burke and Oxford gone on loan we need a quick CH
A creative midfielder and a back up CF
Bony would be cheap as City want rid
Kone is on the cards again but Gibson would be better
Barkley or Gray would be great signings
If we only have the squad we have now top 7 not possible
    But relegation not on cards

    • Don’t agree on you’re choice e of players bub,s but league wise I agree mate, top ten for me , ish. 2/3 injuries away from a nightmare, its the goals against I’m more worried about 😁
Plus ayew has become the new jenksπŸ˜‚ always on his arry πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‰

      • You leave my mate Ayew alone Laz,he is going to have a good season.10+ goals easy, stand on me 😁

        • I agree, give Ayew a run without injury and he will score goals! Regularly knows where to find a rebound….

The talk about another striker is unlikely to be a major signing, given that Ayew, Antonio and Arnie can all fill in ….

  8. I promise not to pick on him again πŸ˜‰ when he’s not playing πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ seriously though I can’t see where he will fit in when all are fit ? And if they bring in 2-3 more players it pushes him down the list even more , he scores goals , can’t argue that fact, a good goal hanger should πŸ˜‚ I can’t see nothing else in his game? he bores the shyte out of me , i hope he rips the arry out of my expert armchair assessment of him πŸ˜‰ just not quite Carling for me 😝 more shandy ,ishπŸ‘…πŸ»

    • Lol thanks for that armchair assessment Laz.Im just bored actually, waiting for a delivery that aint turned up.I might just go on the lash early i think 🍻😁

  9. Note on the door , please leave at no ? = πŸ»πŸ‘…

  10. I’d leave it till opening time meself.

  11. Rads got a secret knock mooro πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ no flies on him mate πŸ˜‚
