Hammers keen on PSG midfielder

hatemWest Ham are being linked with a move for  PSG star Hatem Ben Arfa.

The former Newcastle United right sided attacking midfielder has been unable to nail down a place in the French side and is open for  move back to the Premier League in January.

Ben Arfa spent last season on-loan with Nice, however since being recalled  has made only three appearances all season, all coming in the Cup competition Coupe de France.

He has  impressed during his brief amount of playing time however, finding the net three times in as many games.

The Daily Mail say West Ham could be willing to offer him the opportunity of first team football as they look to turn their season around.

New manager David Moyes is keen on bolstering his midfielder options after the New Year to ensure the Hammers survival, but will face competition from Leicester City for the 30-year-old.

  1. Oh well if we face competition forget it.

  2. Great, someone else who doesn’t track back or put in a shift. All speculation of course so taken with a pinch of salt. But we need 3 skillful, quick and strong central midfielders imho. Not more wingers.

    • I agree with your priorities, and surely Moyes does too. … I hope.

    • Agree def not the player u warn in our situation we need hard workers. Afra would be risky I’d have Grujic on loan from Liverpool young physical wanting to proof himself. Other options out there even on loan.

  3. +1 master ! 30 yo 5 year contract ? Great business that would be ? Go for it sully , take us to that next level 😂😂 ! Its only a rumour ! I hope !!! 😕

  4. I can’t believe we awarded Reid a 6 year contract and Oggy a 5 year one, both are decent defenders but hardly world beaters. If we did get BenArfa unless he really grafted I could just see him being unhappy on the bench again, he is though a player that will on his day win you some points and score some amazing goals. We need a spark or two in this team to set it alight so if we did get him on loan it may not be that bad and if he does some magic things our fans would get behind him and maybe inspire him to bigger and better performances.

    • I know Reid got a 5 year deal but did Ogbonna get a recent 5 year deal or was it the one a year ago or so?
Either way I completely agree when Reid got that 5 yr deal going on 30 I couldn’t believe especially w his injuries him & Og are both very injury prone. Before this season they played 50 games btwn them in 2 seasons.
Marko shouldn’t have got 5 years either. What’s wrong w a 3 year deal or 2. 5 years should go to good talent 26 or under.
I like Reid but I also think he has been over hyped at times. We didn’t need a GK but we desperately needed a CB over the summer & years before.
Recruitment is a huge reason why we are at we are now.
If they pay old players with consistency issues in Jan we will go down w High paid big name players

  5. I remember him at Newcastle and what sticks in my mind was that he was a ‘lightweight’ – the last thing we need at the moment.

We need strength and power in midfield, not a one-trick pony who goes missing all the time!

  6. Any player joining us in January will be on massively inflated wages to entice them, and be given a release clause when we are relegated. Remember Demba Ba anyone?

  7. Can’t think of 1 skillful, quick, strong midfielder that is available and would join a relegation dogfight, let alone 3.

    • We will have too look for young players wanting to proof themselves willing to put in the work like Silva did at Hull tho they went down. We on paper have a better base. W £20m we will have to do some loans.
What do you think of Grujic from Liverpool his Agent wants a loan move for him in PL & the game he played this year in PL was great 92% passing & is 6’3 w some pace & physical.
