Hammers keep big eye on January target

ArterWest Ham are maintaining a January interest in Bournemouth’s Harry Arter but face rivals in Crystal Palace.

David Moyes has identified midfield as a key area in his spending plans and Arter is the man he fancies.

The Republic of Ireland is seen as a guy who can provide missing snap and mobilityin the middle of the park and despite the 27 year old signing a new four year contract in June, the Hammers are hopeful they can prise him away.

But Palace manager Roy Hodgson is also keen although whether the player would be ready to want involvement in a relegation scrap with either club mus be questionable.

However, Moyes will be hoping to have improved the Irons form and position to the point where a bid could succeed with a bid although Bournemouth will be tough opponents to deal with.

Moyes. made it clear in his press conference when discussing youngster Domingos Quina that midfield was an area where youngsters had a chance of breaking through demonstrating that this is likely to be where his efforts will be focused.

  1. We again keep hearing about all these targets !! But wha is Moyes goig to be able to buy
with 30 mill….. Ive Always supported The board for originally saving our club!! AND they did..
BUT i now think everything is done on the cheep. And look at Moyes contract THE CHEEP OPTION again.. COYI

  2. He’s a billionaire sully , he needs to speculate to accumulate , he doesn’t love the club that much where his cash is at stake ! Spend some you’ll never loose out , the stadium will see to that ! Its going to cost a few quid !! Don’t, and the shouting gets louder , its starting to rumble at present and if he’s not shyting himself with the chants on Sunday he soon will be if Jan comes and goes without bringing in at least 3- 4 players until the summer ? But this is a never ending debate , it will end one day though ! Either with him or without him ! Its down to him and the rest of the board ! Maybe this job is to big for him and his money availability to take us forward ! Cheap is not the way to the next level . him and us supporters need a win to might ! We need some feel good factor ! A boost for everyone ,

  3. 30 million figure has come from Twitter and other speculation. I don’t believe our budget has actually been revealed by anyone. Just wait and see. Similarly, what you pay isn’t the be all and end all, it’s about who fits and who will do well.

    • I agree who fits. Where as we have bought players for their names Experience & have no idea how to use them.
Just buy a big name and the rest will work out… That hasn’t worked

  4. Arter is a decent player, definitely quite a sparky character but imo what we are missing more than anything is raw pace. Hopefully if spend big the players we buy will mostly have real pace that we can use on the counter attack and in defence.

    • I like Arter but I also like this Hazma Barry from Hadjuk Split w have been linked w he is young has pace & creative. Yes from Croatian league but 5 goals 5 assists in 16 or so apps. £5m could be a shrewd buy.
I think we missed out on Henry Onyekuru at £7m
I like Almiron from MLS Atlanta 23yo Paraguayan Intl. Been linked w PL move. Ziyech Klaus etc
There is plenty of talent out there & buying from PL as proven to be a risk as any buy is but more expensive.
But yes we need Pace & I think creativity as well
