Hammers line up deals for squad members

Football - FA Premier League - West Ham United FC v Liverpool FCWest Ham are ready to let Carlton Cole and Guy Demel move on in the summer but deals are likely to be handed to Morgan Amalfitano and James Collins.

With three key players – Mark Noble, James Tomkins and Winston Reid tied down to new deals – Collins looks certain to  be offered a new contract.

His current deal runs out next summer but such has been his form this season in particular the central defender could get a two year extension which will take him to 33 years of age.

Amalfitano is likely to be offered at least another year after impressing in a series of cameo performances during the current campaign.

Cole could yet become a West Bromwich Albion player with Tony Pulis claiming he could come back for the veteran Hammer in the summer and the club will entertain offers for 33 year old Demel.

As reported on this site earlier this week Diafra Sakho’s improved deal will also kick in during the summer.

A Hammers source told ClaretandHugh exclusively: “James has another year and then an option in our favour which we may trigger early  whilst we are thinking over the sort of deal will offer Morgan. Diafra’s improved deal will kick in at the end of the season.”

  1. The first person to leave has to be the manager. One this is done then the following players should be shown the door, Demel (who I feel sorry for – far better player than Jenkinson), Nolan, Cole and O’Brien. If the right offer came in for Carroll I would consider this to. I would not sign Jenkinson do not rate him defensively. I would hope the new manager would want to sign Song and bring in a top right full back, another centre midfielder (box to box), and a world class playmaker. I would be very happy then. I believe if we had a world class playmaker in behind Sakho and Valencia we would be amazing. I don’t believe that is Downing.

    • i stopped reading this reply at “Demel (who I feel sorry for – far better player than Jenkinson”

    • selling Carroll and Cole without replacements would leave us with only Sakho and Valencia. weird idea.

      • I would not be very happy

      • IMO I would sell Carroll. It would free up so much money to get at least another quality striker.Carroll is suited to Allardyce’s long ball game and that’s why Allardyce got him.I am sure the new manager will use Carroll only as an impact player off the bench if he is not sold.Yes Carroll, Cole,Demel.O’Brien,Nolan,Jarvis and hippo head all to be moved on.The owners should be seriously looking at the dead wood on their books.Clean out and add some more quality and challenge for that top 4 position. Also I feel there is a lot of frustration amongst the players with the way Allardyce sets his team up.It is constantly recorded on this site how Allardyce infuriates supporters and that must be having an effect on players like Song for example. In my humble opinion.P.S I’m not using.

      • Don’t forget we will have Maiga back next year….

  2. I would have thought that Matt Jarvis will be moved on as well – if they can find any interest – he’s been very disappointing!

So that’s Carlton Cole, Guy Demel, Joey O’Brien, Kevin Nolan and Matt Jarvis to move on for me – along with BFS, of course!!

  3. Good news! I hope Amalfitano will extend his contract, I find him a quality player. I also hope O’brien, Jarvis and Nolan will be moved on. Obviously the first one has to go is the manager. I cross my fingers… 😉

  4. Bangkok i got as far as Demel read it to the Mrs then stopped and read your reply, there must be some really good drugs out there,
The list of players everyone wants out is the same if you are not on drugs,
Don’t know how HUGH missed O,Brien and Jarvis does not fit the diamond as he has not got the attributes of Downing,
Nene already looks more than capable and the return of Zarate could cover Downing.
Personally I would give Carroll one more season but not a garentee starter and at the moment his value is poor.
Buts it funny how the first person on this forum on any subjects starts BFS out.

  5. Allardyce is a martyr…

  6. Personally i would get rid of Adrian,Sakho & Cresswell.Damn these drugs are good 😀

  7. I want Allardyce forever. Yes these drugs are wonderful, thanks conker…

  8. Can you send some to me please,
But the cheap beer still works fine in Spain,

  9. I like Carroll,he serves a purpose & is good at what he does. But all the time he is with us our style of play will not change. If he wasnt at the club we would have no option but to find a less direct approach. In my humble opinion that cannot be a bad thing, both for the team & the fans.If we do get a new manager he will more than likely not play hoofball the Allardyce way,so AC could be limited in appearances anyway.Lets face it,there aint many managers anymore who play with a big hardman lump upfront & certainly not as a lone striker like the adventurous Sam has done on many occasions.

  10. Any news on obrien, surely this guy can’t steal another years living from is impersonating a footballer. I’d get rid him and sign jenkinson and trippier
