Hammers linked with French left back

sidReports in the Daily Mail suggest West Ham have made enquiries for Lille  left back Djibril Sidibe.

Watford, Arsenal , Everton and Lyon are also reported to have made enquiries for the 23-year-old, who can also play as a right back. Sidibe is valued at 15 million euros (£11.5m) by his club, who finished the 2015-16 season in fifth place in Ligue 1.

Everton reportedly had a £10million bid for Lille left-back rejected this week while Lyon and Watford have both scouted the defender. Arsenal are said to be willing to make a move if the out-of-favour Kieran Gibbs leaves the club.

Sidibé can play as a full back on the right or left, but can also be utilized in the midfield in a defensive position. He began his career at his hometown club Troyes in 2000 at the age of eight. Sidibé made his professional debut on 17 September 2010 in a French league match against Grenoble. After helping earn Troyes promotion to Ligue 1, the then 19-year-old signed for Lille in July 2012, as cover for Mathieu Debuchy. Sidibé made his debut for Lille on 25 August 2012 against Nice.
