Hammers linked with Mexican left back

West Ham have been linked with the Mexican left back Miguel Layún. The 29-year-old currently plays for Spanish club Sevilla, on loan from Portuguese club Porto.  Layun is good friends with Javier Hernandez and whether his fellow Mexican stays or goes could also be a factor.

The pair are set to both go to the World cup in Russia this summer.  The signing of Layun could mean the end of Aaron Cresswell who has not been the same player this season.  He holds the record for more assists in the Premier League by a defender (seven) but club sources say they would consider offers for Cresswell this summer.

Last month Everton were linked with a £25million summer raid for West Ham and England left-back. The report said that  Sam Allardyce – who signed Cresswell for the Hammers four years ago from Ipswich remains a big fan and wants him to compete with Leighton Baines.

  1. Yes please cresswell can’t defend 25mill thanks. Also moyes must go and Snodgrass sold his too old for premier standards and crap. Sell immediately unless were going to be in another relegation season with moyes and Snodgrass joke!

  2. “season tickets, get your season ticktes here, season tickets…”

  3. Yes totally agree. For 25mil, there won’t be a shortage of volunteers to drive him there.
He can be excellent in games but doesn’t show it often enough as he used to. Seems to be on the decline.

  4. As for Layun, he’s 29yrs old and Porto are loaning him out. Seville have played him for 13 sub appearances this season after only 7 appearances as a sub for Porto. He’s been transferred 13 times in his 12yr career with not one club keeping him more than a year.

Make what you want from that narrative??

He’d be perfect for West Ham 🙂
