Hammers moving on Mexican international

West Ham are this morning (Mon) being linked with Mexican international, Porto‘s Miguel Layun who last night impressed during Mexico’s win over Germany in the World Cup.

The 29 year old – who can play at either left back or wide right –  was loaned by his club to Sevilla in January and was watched by the Hammers new director of football Mario Husillos regularly in Spain.

Now he has been named as a target by an emerging influential Twitter source as a target for the club’s new man at the helm.

@whufcbulletin claims in a tweet: “Mario Husillos has reignited interest in Porto‘s Miguel Layun 29, West Ham made contact with his agents a month ago and it seems Husillos was impressed during the Mexican international’s short spell in La Liga with Sevilla where he had been on loan since January.

And he adds separately: “Sevilla had a clause included in their loan deal to sign Layun for a sum as low as €5 million from Porto.

In light of his performance in Mexico’s 1-0 World Cup win over holders Germany that would prove to be a steal.”

  1. Glad to see this site is really getting behind the “leak-free window” initiative. Good work.

  2. Yeh , aol . The idea of keeping quiet and laying low has gone right out the Window if you will permit me the pun . Talking too much is how we lose potential sighnings and create high expectations which are inevitably a let down .

  3. Let me make this clear to aol and others, this site has a No 1 priority to being news exclusive and general stuff. You don’t like it? leave or be binned. If you believe that we will stop bringing transfer news based on what we hear, you are wrong and you are on the wrong site. You don’t like us or our policy ? move on. The Leave a reply facility will soon be gone go as a result of the whingers wjho only turn up to knock. The leak proof thing is a club issue not a CandH one – we will publish what we hear. End of. And no doubt we will continue to be described as being in the club’s pocket despite our policy. Ludicrous.

  4. If u believe that a website such as this can ruin transfers you may want to think about that again slowly. The truth is of course that you don’t like us very much which is fine- we both know where the door is
