Hammers must pay more to land keeper

|

West Ham have been told they must pay more to land Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski. As reported by Wales Online the Hammers had their opening bid rejected last week as part of a double swoop which included defender Alfie Mawson.

33-year-old Fabianski played the second half of Poland’s 2-2 draw with Chile last Friday as he fights for his place in the World Cup.

Fabianski is said to want to leave Swansea following their relegation as he doesn’t fancy a season in the Championship but the Hammers opening bid of around £5m is considered too low and the Welsh club wants £7m for their keeper.

He is said to earn £50,000 per week at Swansea and wants his wages matched.Bournemouth is the current Bookies favourites at Evens to sign Fabianski with West Ham second favourites at a very good price of 4/1 with BetVictor.

The next week should let us whether Fabianski becomes a Hammer.

Walk away from this one. He is 33 and no better than what we have currently. Go for a younger keeper like Johnstone or a better one like Heaton. And Mawson is not worth the £20m plus Swansea want. Wait until the last week of the window and see what these two go for.

I would not complain if we got him. We have one keeper at the moment, and we need at least two. At the price he is well worth it as a stop gap, so we can spend real money on other positions. He will be good enough for another 2 years, by which time Nathan Lott would be coming onto the scene. Lott is becoming brilliant, but he needs to build himself up both mentally and physically.
Experience and age are invaluable for a keeper, so Fabriansky could do for us what Jussi did.

    Adrian is better than Fabianski.

I’m sure he is when he hits his peak; and when he hits his trough as he does, then he is not so good. I love Adriane and want him to stay, but on his own will not do. He needs stiff competition to keep his standards up. Fabianski is good enough to do that. His also cheap.
