Hammers open up on Valencia ‘bid’

Valencia scoresWest Ham have not received  a £21 million offer for Enner Valencia!

Morning reports that Chelsea have started talks with the Irons with a view to taking the Ecuador international (pictured above) were described to ClaretandHugh a few minutes ago as “entirely false.”

The Sun has been pushing the story for a couple of days but a Hammers source told us this morning: “A lot of agents are winding the thing up but there is nothing on the table in terms of a bid.

“Nor has there been any contact from Chelsea at this stage.” Tht is entirely false.”

The Sun reported today that Jose Mourinho has approved the move for Valencia, and Chelsea’s negotiators have begun talks with the Hammers to land the Ecuadorian striker before the window shuts.

Our source said: “We’ve received no bid and all this does is unsettle our players. We keep hearing the rumours but until a bid arrives on the table there’s nothing to say.”

And he added with heavy emphasis: I just want to point out that whatever happens or doesn’t happen in that area, Diafra Sakho not for sale at ANY price.”

Perhaps significantly, despite the Senegal international being mentioned yesterday as a Chelsea target, he has been dropped from today’s update in the ‘paper!

  1. Is that 11 million plus Remy which would give us 8 million for Gomis plus 2 million spare towards giving Reid a rise and a new contract or 2 million in the summer towards replacing him if so it good business even if we do like Valencia.

  2. Who ever this insider is should not be involved with West Ham – there will be an outcry if Valencia is sold – make no mistake about it. This is BFS all again. Gomis or Remy no where near the class of this guy – he is worth too much to us.. Gomis is another big powerful player – another BFS signing, Remy past his best so our chairmen please please please do not consider any bids for Valencia – he is the future of our club. And please do not buy fletcher. If someone comes in with an offer for Nolan or Carroll take it but no one will – why do you think that is !!!

  3. Carroll has been by far the best player this season and stats prove that. Why do people still want rid?

  4. I’m an Italian West Ham fan, I watch all matches on TV. Last season was a disaster, but the first two months of this one where very exciting, thanks to great new players and more attractive playing style. In my personal opinion (but I think I’m not the only one…) the real evil of West Ham is the manager; he is deep-seated, he has an old mentality, he insists with Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll destroying the fantastic duo Sakho-Valencia which represents the future of the club; when they played together I enjoyed watching their speed, their agreement, their playing style much more different from duo Carroll-Nolan. West ham has class players: Zarate, Amalfitano, Morrison (in my opinion the best of all and we’ve lost him for nothing). BFS is totally unable to commend the class of these players prefering Nolan, Cole, Carroll (now I’m reading about Gomis) which disallow an attractive football. I’m afraid that Valencia will soon leave West Ham, because he is not used in his natural position and doesn’t represent the ideal striker of BFS which loves strikers powerful and skilled in the air playing style. I’m sure our manager has to be changed as soon as possible before other class palyers will leave the club. West Ham is ownership of the supporters not of BFS!

    • I totally agree with you, if Valencia is sold it will be because the manager has got his way. Everyone can see he is class except that man. I know the chairmen believe in him – I just hope they see what is going on in terms of team selection. Put him up front with Sakho get rid of Nolan and Carroll and lets play the West Ham way. If he is sold it will break the hearts of the majority of west ham fans. I cannot believe we are even considering selling Valencia and buying Gomes – stupidity of the highest degree. BFS OUT BFS OUT BFS OUT BFS OUT – David’s can you hear the cries and concerns of the fans.
