Hammers put foot on gas for new signings

West Ham are in a big hurry to get their transfer business done early – in line with the ‘Manuel Pellegrini Way.’

The new boss has gained a reputation for getting things sorted fast throughout his career and the  approach at his new club is no different.

Before leaving for a break in Chile  he handed a list of targets to the board and with Ryan Fredericks arriving for talks on Monday things are moving quickly.

As reported last night Fredericks will make the Hammers his first stop early on Monday after returning from a Fulham promotion winning trip to Las Vegas.

And our top source inside the club have made it clear they are very hopeful more will be on the way very quickly.

We were told: “It’s important we tie everything up as soon as we can and you can expect several signings over the next two or three weeks, all things being well.

  1. Fredericks was being scouted by Moyes and Pearce long before Pellegrini came into the frame. So If we sign him it won’t be a case of how brilliantly fast pellegrini operates compared to dithering Dave. It will be case of how come it took so long.

    • I disagree.

Pellegrin would of only been in charge for two weeks. He would of had to provide a list of targets in that time as well.

IF it goes though it would be great.

  2. It’s fantastic that we’re getting players signed or trying to so early, great news…it’s about time all the waffling stopped and contracts given out…..the board certainly have a hell of alot to prove, let’s get the players in then we can start the huge rebuilding programme to the squad that’s clearly necessary..but I’m hugely optimistic and buzzing about the transfer talk atm …for once I hope those ppl upstairs keep their mouths shut and let the money do the talking ….we’re all still watching….but things look a bit rosier..

    • Agreed. The owners are so eager to please the fans with talk of all the things they want to do, which is great on one hand, but no conducive to clever business practice. Fingers crossed they learned their lessons after the “we’ve got £30m for a striker” farce and now get our business done quickly, quietly and effectively. All very positive.
