Hammers striker at centre of transfer tug of war

diafra-sakho-west-ham-crystal-palace_3447376Diafra Sakho is set to be at the centre of a tug of war between Metz and Cardiff City when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Wales outfit are currently second in the Championship and looking for front line reinforcements in their bid for promotion to the Premier League.

And ClaretandHugh understands there is interest in Sakho at around £12 million although should the Senegal striker choose to make the move he will face a rigorous medical examination after his various injury problems.

The Hammers will be ready to sell assuming that boss David Moyes gives  such a move his seal of approval and the cash would go straight into boosting his own transfer kitty.

Rennes – who were at the centre of the summer pantomime when the striker arrived in France for a medical but was forced to remain at West Ham – are still keen.

Sakho has not had the game time he would have hoped for at the Hammers since then and is understood to be ready to move on as he bids to kick start his career.

  1. Imagine he still wants to go to France. So Metz is Rennes out not thought they were still keen.

  2. Does that mean weve got 42 mill to spend if sold ? Or 12 mill and hoping to move on a couple more ? If I was sakho I would wait until the summer and go on a free ! Just to spite the little dildo ! And get a better contract with who he signs for!! What a waste of a player !

  3. Hi Laz,
I’ll be sad to see Sakho leave..
As you correctly implied, if the ‘Brothers’ had treated him better, he’d be happy to stay at West Ham.
We can always hope that Moyes can work a miracle and turn his mind around, come January.
When he play with a co-striker, he is a very dangerous player.
Such a shame that we still don’t have Sakho and Enner Valencia!

    • Enner Valencia?! He was horrendous!! One wonder goal against Hull and was crap the rest of the time! Enner Valencia 😂 do me a favour

  4. There is obviously a lot of baggage with Sakho that means he must be sold at some point despite a fair section of fans believing in the “player” even if a lot off the field is undesireable, I count myself in that bracket, when fit and firing he is more of a handful for defenders than any of our other strikers including Carroll, we need to try and get another fast athletic striker if we replace him, £12m looks like decent business if we can secure it just add a sell on clause.
