|

West Brom’s Craig Dawson – who has been on the Hammers central defensive wish list – has snubbed a close season club training camp in Portugal as he bids to get away from the Hawthorns.

According to The Mirror he and keeper Ben Foster are training on their own at West Brom’s HQ after refusing join the club’s Portugal training camp.

Both Albion stars wantaway stars declined to go on Darren Moore’s pre-season trip amid interest from Premier League clubs.

West Ham have had a long term interest in Dawson and at one stage it was reported the 28 year old had been the subject of a £15 million bid but that the Baggies were looking for around £20 million.

Should the Hammers decide to move in again they will need to fight off reported interest from Burnley but with Manuel Pellegrini making it clear he may steer away from relegated players he and director of football Mario Husillos could now be looking elsewhere.
