Hammers touch down in Switzerland

Manuel Pellegrini and the West Ham first team squad plus invited Academy players touched down in Switzerland yesterday early evening.  The West Ham private chartered jet from People’s Viennaline airline took off London Stansted airport arriving at St. Gallen Altenrhein Airport which 45 minutes away from their hotel by coach.

The squad are staying in the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz in the northeast section of Switzerland, also known as Heidiland. This will be summer base of the West Ham first team squad until 13 July. The Hammers face FC Winterthur on Sunday 8th July in Winterthur.

Training starts this morning in Bad Ragaz.

On their return, the Hammers will travel to Championship trio Aston Villa, Preston North End and Ipswich Town and League One new boys Wycombe Wanderers as they prepare for the start of the new top-flight campaign on Saturday 11 August.

  1. It’s a great set of fixtures, especially for the boss to look at the current attacking options(check on their abilities and compatibility) before looking elsewhere.
