Hammers up their offer for ‘marquee’ signing

EXCLUSIVE

West Ham have breathed new life into the bid for Felipe Anderson by increasing their bid for the Lazio midfielder to £35 million plus add-ons.

Manuel Pellegrini is pushing hard for the man who he sees as key to turning the Hammers around – possibly in much the same way as happened when Dimi Payet arrived at the club.

The manager has insisted that the board won’t regret a penny of what they spend on the 25-year-old who also has the capability to roam across the midfield Lanzini style.

As a result of Pellegrini persuasion, the Hammers have upped their bid from £30 million to £35 million and with David Sullivan flying away on holiday, director of football Mario Husillos is in charge of getting the deal over the line as he will be all player signings from here on in.

The on/off saga has dominated the Hammers summer window and should Husillos get the man seen as a ‘marquee signing’ he will become the fourth player to have joined the club so far this summer.

The Lazio star has already agreed on personal terms with the club and is desperate to become a part of the club next season.

  1. Good point the English player I would go for would be Loftus Cheek. I think has is the real deal. That’s it no more on my wish list !

  2. I really hope we get thus done Anderson is class !

    • Don’t hold your breath mate the Lazio chairman is like the SL and Lyon ones ljkectrying to claw blood out of a stone and keeps moving goalposts no pun intended

  3. I thought we’d already had an offer of £37m refused?

  4. With the increased offer and the personal terms agreed plus the players desire to sign it could actually happen . Fingers crossed .
