Hammers went in for Drogba

dROGBADidier Drogba has revealed that West Ham tried to sign him before his 2004 arrival at Chelsea.

He had spent the 2002/03 season with Guingamp before joining Marseille and then Chelsea but in different circumstances could have been at Upton Park.

Speaking to Goals on Sunday the forward explained how the Hammers came to his home for transfer talks.

He said“I was in Guingamp at that time,” he said. “I’d just arrived at the club and they came to my house and spoke, but it didn’t happen. I wasn’t ready to go.”
