Hammers will listen to offers for striker

carrollWest Ham will listen to any offer which may come in for Andy Carroll in the January window.

The player will have around 18 months left on his contract and this may be the last chance the Hammers will get some sort of fee for the £17 million front man.

There is  frustration within the club with Carroll who has seen four yellow cards and a red in seven Premier League appearances this season.

Alongside that was David Moyes’ revelation that he told him at half time during the Watford game that he would be subbing him given that he was in danger of being sent off.

Carroll’s injury record has caused constant problems but the niggling fouls that are regularly putting him at the referee’s mercy are now being seen as another growing issue.

The club know that should he be sold they will probably have to take a financial hit but would look for a fee of around £10 million plus.

  1. Selling Carroll will come back and bite us big time . There , it’s been said . , by Me .
    22/November 2017 .

  2. Better off selling Noble .

    • Who would buy Noble SPL?
If they get £17-£20m they will take it & maybe replace w younger CF like Babacar.
But if sell him & Sahko then be in trouble if no replacement but that said dealt with both of them injured & didn’t have Chicharito
Sahko & AC could bring £30m esp if they play Sahko let him score raise price if still wants to leave

    • I can hear the violins playing from here keV ! 😂
Betablockers in the post mate 😂

  3. I would have agreed with you at any time in the last 5 years Kevin- apart from in the last month. I have defended him on here plenty of times against the Anti Carroll brigade but I think he has definitely lost something this season. My theory is that it is the result of all the injuries & he won’t get it back. I would love to be wrong & watch him prove all the doubters wrong too. Nobody will ever convince me that if he had played 30 games a season he would not have been one of the PL’s top strikers over the last 5 years. But the time for ‘if’ is over. I doubt we will get £17m. He may well be crocked again before Jan anyway. But unless a miracle happens in the next 6 weeks a replacement has to be found- especially if Sakho continues to sulk.

    • He is fit now & not offering much but neither is the whole team!
And we have to play a certain way w him
But 8 games 0 goals this season. 30 goals in around 130 + apps 5 + years doesn’t scream top striker & is getting older so if can cash in for £10m plus in Jan reduce wages I imagine they will sell him.
We have been waiting for him to be fit & if he stays fit he would be top 6 club striker but doesn’t seem them case now like u say.
If Sahko gets to play he scores goals maybe changes his mind if not it will still help us & raise his value.
Newcastle China who wants AC? I think Mitrovic is good but as red mist like AC & Rafa won’t play him but for Serbia 8 in 11 & when plays he scores & causes problems for defenders.

  4. Sorry didn’t read the article carefully. Nobody suggested £17m. But even £10m???

  5. I get the feeling Carroll acts like a”nutter ” to get sent off on purpose? So he gets three games off to go on the sauce in some pub or bar in London while the rest of the team struggle on where ever there playing?????

  6. Quicker he goes the better. Offered nothing to the team this season, slow and lazy and getting to be a liability. Think he’s had enough tbh . Preferred him when he was injured.

  7. He doesn’t look interested when he plays throwing his arms around with the hump half the time ..he,s fit and now his Attitude is the problem ..like chek and Cressy he hasn’t looked the same player mind you they have all been shocking

  8. Hooray some good news hopefully a pound of carrots for the carthorse good riddance to the donkey

  9. He has certainly been fit this season but he hasn’t been a goal threat at all, it does look like Sakho that he wants out or if not out then he doesn’t want to play, sometimes players have a shelf life at a club and his might be up, the worrying thing is we would be left with only one proper striker and no no 9 if he and Sakho both go, there is a rumour that Moyes wants Slimani which might not be a bad shout presuming Leicester would sell him, he is mobile and physical and has a decent scoring record when he starts regularly, I am sure he would be happy to be out of Leicester if only to get the splinters out of his arris from warming that bench. We certainly need someone to partner Hernandez that will bring out the best in him and if we can find that person we should be ok.

    • I would have Slimani. Leicester have too many CFs and he scores just doesn’t get game time or fit there system but they paid £30m & 30yo now I’d have him but don’t see them spending that.
Spend £30m let’s get Ciro Immobile please

  10. So Sakho wants to leave and we’ll listen to offers for Caroll when we need to win approximately half of our remaining games to stay in the division. I can’t decide if that stupidity or suicide.

  11. What actually does he give us?
Is he really that effective, in my opinion
he hasn’t done much this season, I think he’s actually more effective when we are defending a set piece. Try him out as a centre half can’t get worse than what we have. All jokes a side I would sell him as he is due an injury soon or he will get suspended the way he is currently playing

    • He will score goals given the right service but we don’t cross the ball so maybe there’s no point as he has nothing to do other than flick on goal kicks.

  12. Carroll has plenty of service over the years and apart from one decent season in the Championship has never scored many, so cant agree that there are a lot of goals in him with the right service, whatever that is!!

    • Absolute rubbish. The hat trick against Arsenal, winners against Liverpool and Chelsea etc…he’s scored some of the most important goals in our recent history.

      • The reality is that he has scored only 30 goals in five and a half seasons. That’s less than six a year which is pretty poor for any striker.

  13. 30 goals since August 2012
NOT good enough and always injured.
If you assess his appearances and how many times he has been a sub or been below par as coming back from injury he is a non performer
NO way will anyone pay £10m for someone who averages 6 goals a season

  14. On his day he is pretty much unplayable. Doesnt have enough of those days though and this season doesn’t look his head is right. Probably needs a fresh start.

  15. He’s only worth is as an impact sub for last 15-20 mins to be used as s game changer if all else is failing. 30 goals in 5 seasons ain’t good enough regardless of how many games he’s actually played. He’s highly paid every week weather he plays or not. We get used to playing a system with out him and then he comes back for a few games upsets the style we’ve been playing, gets chosen over other players who’ve done well giveing them the zig, such as Sakho in 2015, gets injured and then we go back to playing without him. A total hindernce to the whole team. That’s AC at his best. At his worst it’s exsctky the same but offers nothing gets booked doesn’t seem particularly interested and gets himself sent off because he’s probably got a few parties lined up. He doesn’t link up well with Hetnsndez and is prevents us from actually forming a style of play with any continuity. He’s worth about 8 mil tops and we should grab it and get rid ASAP. Yes I agree on his day he is unplayable but he’s far too inconsistent. Can’t wait till he goes and we can build around Hernandez with Martinez as a great prospect coming through.

  16. Martinez is the future learning off Hernandez.Slimani could be a shrewd aquisition in January with a limited budget again and a holding midfielder a priority.

  17. I have to chuckle every time I see anything that refers to West Ham selling Andy Carrol. Forget being unplayable – he’s bloody unsellable.
Who in their right mind would actually spend money on a striker who, for 5 years, has scored on average 6 goals a season. Not only that, but when he does play, the team inevitably ends up playing long ball waiting for the famous Andy Carrol knock-ons to win them the game, Who wants to watch that?
If an offer did come in, and once the laughter stopped in the boardroom, they would take it immediately. No need to haggle the price, just say yes and think themselves lucky that they don’t have to pay 85K a week for a player so spend more time on the recovery table than on the pitch.

    • Nah, the thing is, chicken noodle soup, Sully would have to haggle over the price, even if someone offered £30m!

      • I’d hope not sparrow, but you can never say never with this club. Surely they’d even take a loss to get rid of the albatross that Sam Allardyce left around around the clubs neck.

  18. Andy Carroll may still be one of the most potent strikers in the PL but whatever’s going on we have to accept that West Ham hasn’t been able to get that out of him (one or two flashes of brilliance aside) despite persisting with him and organising half our team and tactics around him. If it had paid off, that would have been great, but it hasn’t and we’ve looked very ordinary as a result.
I’d like to see him leave the club, because I don’t like the style of play his presence encourages us to adopt – for want of a better expression, it’s not the West Ham way.

  19. +1 pagen !
On his day once a year isn’t good enough !
    Get rid 😎

  20. Was he ever a potent striker in the Prem? Potent strikers score lots of goals so that excludes him. 30 in 5 years+. Defo couldn’t be called potent by any stretch of the imagination. Every thing else you say is absolutely spot on though Prepagan.
